Just wondering if anyone else saw the premier of CSI this week? To me, the show's gone way downhill since Grissom left, (I really can't stand Lawrence Fishburne) but I tape it and watch when I can. I just watched the premier episode of the new season, and it sure looks and sounds to me like the MSM is engaging in over-the-top propaganda.
Indeed, the speaker, when the cops enter, is talking about "taking back our country" and utters the phrase "speak truth to power" ( now where have we heard that before..hmmm?)
Anyone else see it?
I am proud to say I have NEVER watched an ep of CSI.
As soon as the scene with the “right wing” meeting came on I turned the channel. I knew what was coming and sure enough they were depicted as a bunch of violent rednecks. Feh!
LLS
Just Propaganda - ho hum -
Too bad they didn’t base it on reality - a few bombs go off - and are traced to a close frind of he President.
Media is at war with us. People need to accpt that.
I thought so. But that speaking truth to power line is straight out of the democrat radical’s play book, too. They used it first, all during the election in 08. Long before Beck started using it.
Anyway, I was a bit put out with their misguided depiction of the group. But, hey, Justin Bieber was a member, so I think everyone could tell this was a fantasy-land scenario. LMAO.
Law and Order portrays NRA members as gun fanatics and killers...
I started to watch it and saw that Fringe was on. Glad I watched Fringe instead.
I’m so sick of this kind of crap.
Friend’s don’t let Friend’s WATCH TV. Every time you watch a TV show you are boosting their ratings and indirectly Supporting Communists and Terrorists Worldwide.
Right with you!! I N E V E R watch ANYTHING made for TV
The expectation I have (consistently accurate), is that the MSM in whatever way possible, at ANY time WILL subvert the media and covertly, or otherwise, corrupt the message
Sell your toothpaste somewhere else!!
I don’t doubt it... one episode portrayed Bush as a war criminal.
Shocked.
If you listen closely to the statements or plots on almost ALL of the shows on CBS you will hear anti-conservative words.....CBS is totally progressive. It is a shame for me because most of the shows I have enjoyed are on CBS. I stopped watching The Good Wife because of the show that belittled openly Sarah Palin. I get sick of entertainment being turned political....I want to escape from the worries of life by being ENTERTAINED, but, NO....liberals have to push their agendas in your face at every opportunity....look at Corben testifying on immigration issues in Congress....what a joke...but, then, that fits because he is talking to a bunch of comedians anyway.
Just Propaganda - ho hum -
Just like ABC News (Dianne Sawyer) using a White House produced video in her “news” story about Obamacare
My bad...I meant Colbert....that shows his importance in my life...can’t remember the correct spelling of his name...
Try Jericho, as recommended by Chuck Baldwin...

Probably can find it online...and it occasionally can be found on some of the cable channels...
(I voted (potus) for Chuck Balwin vice Ron Paul in’08...)

IT'S FICTION!!!!!
And you can always change the channel, or turn it off if you don't like what you see.
Yes, and it’s not surprising and they’re not the only ones. Law and Order is another. They’re taking political pot shots every chance they get. Sneaky leftist tactics.
One can see the snakes slowly but surely slithering around us.
NCIS and CSI are the only two shows that I enjoy watching on a semi-regular basis now that The Unit is off the air (and was going downhill anyway).
I saw CSI last night. Had similar thoughts as you.
I’m pretty sure last night’s episode will go down as when CSI “jumped the shark” if it is any indication of the future direction of the show.
Leave it to CBS to put politics ahead of their viewer base. Do they really think leftist kooks want to watch a show like CSI? IMHO, they’re basically telling their core audience to change the channel. Good luck with that strategy.
I also don’t like the direction they seem to be taking Nick’s character. He was somewhat of a counterpoint to the wishy-washiness of some of the others. Now it looks like the character will be doing a bunch of whining, navel gazing and hand-wringing in future episodes. Blech.
And that Justin “Stuned” Bieber can’t act his way out of a paper bag. Totally not a believable character.
IMHO, if this is their future direction, they’d be better off ending the show while it’s reputation is intact enough to sell the reruns. The way it’s looking, they’re going to kill the show to the point that no one will remember why they used to watch it.
I like CSI, it's one of the few series I do.
By the way anyone catch Detroit 187? Michael Imperioli from Sopranos is in it. Was pretty good, I thought.
There, fixed it for you.
No Q about it. Clearly anti-Tea Party types. Loved the Bubba who had no ID in his wallet. And no idea, period. Just more Hollyweird insanity.
Sadly, Marg Helgenberger is looking long in the tooth. Maybe if I gave her some of my DNA it would rejuvenate her?
And what’s the “story with Sarah and Grissom’s marriage? She just up and left him?
"I really can't stand Lawrence Fishburne"You're just a homophobe. That's why you don't like Fishburne. Oh yeah, you're probably a racist too. /sarc
Sheesh, they are multiplying now.
I couldn’t stand it before becuase of Grissom’s mocking of all things religious while the show runners had no idea what real science was. The time he “solved” a boat mystery by “modelling” a complex estuary with a round pool and a fan was just the most hilarious of the scientific gaffes.
Now that they aren’t bashing christians so much, I guess they moved on to mainstream america. Hard to believe a TV show can survive making fun of over half the country though.
Who in this country has EVER blown up a police funeral (well, other than, say, the Weatherman that Obama hangs out with?)
Hawaii five-o didn’t seem terribly left-wing. And I can’t imagine Tom Sellack would be in anything overtly left-wing, but I haven’t seen his new show yet.
But those are probably the 1st two CBS shows I’ve watched or planned to watch in the past 5 years.
OK, I admit that when I’m already in the room and my daughter watches “How I Met Your Mother”, I watch it, and it is kind of left-wing but mostly just stupid.
Folks this is how it works. On producer and writers sites an announcement goes out for a prize (money) for the show that depicts a certain opinion or point of view integrated in their show during specific broadcast periods. So writers will write into plot lines some “Womens issue, Warming issues, or anti tea party issue” Then the writers, producer or director will submit their scene to the organizer and a winner determined. The advantage for the sponsor of the contest is that they get a propagandized view point during a specific broadcast or “election period”. This way you propagandize the people on many different shows without it looking like propaganda. Very powerful opinion shifting tool and most people have no idea it is happening.
I think you're projecting. :>)
I watch CSI, on and off. Now, it will be off.
Likewise, “Criminal Minds” premier last night showed the Emergency Alert System as a bureaucratic nightmare that was ultimately solved when the Secretary of DHS stepped in personally to cut through all the red tape and get the blonde access to the EAS. Never saw her, the name Napolitalo was never mentioned, but “Thank you, Madame Secretary, thank you!” was repeated several times.
Oh, puhleeeeze...
Colonel, USAFR
The one show I watch every week is on CBS...NCIS (the original..not the spinoff.) Good show, great characters, fun plots (Ralph Waite as Gibb’s father was a stroke of casting genius.) The ending to the season opener was amazing.
It was my understanding that Grissom was in France doing some obscure funding type thing and she didn't want to hang out and wait, therefore coming back to "help" when they were short handed.
SHe probably should have realized that she didn't really want to leave a popular series and suddenly missed the money coming in. She and the dude that plays Nick pulled some contract stunt a couple of years ago and nearly got booted then.
I prefer NCIS. In fact NCIS is the only current series I watch on TV. Much more conservative.
The pilot was excellent and refreshing. Let’s hope they don’t crap that up.
I agree - NCIS premier was great - more like it’s glory days. The last year or so it’s been a little wishy-washy but I loved the ending.
So, why not ~ CBS celebrates Ayers in its own way ~ an entire political movement made up of mad bombers ~ and all late Middle Aged and/or retired!
Seems like common sense to me that since the group had Patriots in their name and were made to look like the Tea Party, then that’s what they meant. They would never identify who they’re trying to imitate. They’re not about to show their hand.
The original certainly was. I don't know about the remake.
Justin Beiber cannot act. At all.
CSI is looking old and tired.
You are free to take whatever you want from the show. Even a conspiracy of writers, cleverly disguising their hand, and dogging the the Tea Party, so that in November, the Democrats will win the election.
To each his own.
The only reason I watched is because CSI is on after Big Bang Theory and before The Mentalist.
I just don't take TV shows are seriously as others do. They're mostly forgettable.
Jericho was stupid trash.
Why are you proud that you’ve never seen an episode. CSI has been one of the best, if not the best show on tv, for the last ten years. I don’t watch the Las Vegas one after Peterson left, but Gary Sinise is still excellent in the New York version. Granted, David “I’m putting on my sunglasses now” Caruso is a bit over the top in the Miami CSI.
I don't like "investigation" shows at all - period. When was the last time they screwed up and got the wrong guy? Or, couldn't complete the investigation?
The shows are too formulaic. Unrealistic. I stopped watching them after watching a season or two of "Law and Order" over fifteen years ago.
Since Peterson left, I don’t watch CSI-Las Vegas anymore, and the formula does seem to be getting old. However, I’d have to disagree with you about the series being unimaginative. You’ll have to give me an example of an imaginative show.
I watched the Tom Selleck show last night and enjoyed it...primarily because of him. But....they had the story around his son who essentially “waterboarded” a pervert murderer of little girls by sticking his head in a toilet...then, of course, the discussion around the table was about whether anything someone does should require “torture tactics”....so, yes...that agenda was in the show. And the ending was that the lawyer sister (who opposed the “torture” of the monster) essentially won when she implied she would represent her offending brother when he went to trial for doing this to the poor ole pervert.
