It sucks to be Al Gore these days…with everyone waking up and realizing you scammed them out of years worth of electricity and toilet paper! As Al Gore, speaking at a DNC rally, launches into his million dollar message with his boring monotonous voice he gets interrupted by protesters in the crowd shouting, “Global Warming is a hoax! While I happen to agree with you about damaging our side, it is certainly not un-American! Uncivilized, perhaps, but very much American.
Time was, many people, other than the genteel, went to such events to hear the heckling as much as for hearing the speaker; and rotten fruit was not uncommon, nor even fisticuffs.
Sometimes, I wish we could give such honest opinions of our illustrious leaders without threat of arrest; but, motivated by a sense of self preservation, they passed laws protecting themselves to a greater level than laws protecting the peasantry from similar acts...and call it 'equal protection'.
