This year, a company which took over sponsorship of the annual Richmond, Virginia, Christmas parade has ordered the city's organizers to change it to a "holiday" parade.
Dominion, an energy company operating in 12 states, has told the city it no longer wants to use "Christmas" as part of the parade name. Instead, Dominion said it will be known as the "Dominion Holiday Parade."
This attack on the traditional use of "Christmas" has been accepted by parade organizers, who buckled under the anti-Christmas insistence of the company.

I don’t attend generic parades myself, but if these people don’t think Christmas is the reason for the season, like I tell people who insist the holiday of lights parade in Denver is a secular event, try having it in February and see who shows up.
And it starts...
I want my CHRISTmas parade to celebrate CHRISTmas — and ONLY CHRISTmas!
If people want to have a separate parade for Hanukkah or New Year’s, that’s fine with me. But to change a CHRISTmas parade into a parade for ALL the holidays is just flat-out WRONG!
JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON!
Dominion Power does not speak for the people, I traveled down broad street for many years heading to grandmas house outside of Charlottesville during Christmas, the street was always lit up with Christmas themes..It is a fond memory, it is wrong to destroy Christmas, if they want a day for whatever they belive in go for it, but don’t take the birth of Jesus in this dark world out of Christmas!!!
Is this Canada?
Find another supplier for your Gas or Electric service, and let Dominion know why !
Let the turncoats call it anything they want,,, one can still yell Merry Christmas to everyone they meet. Wear Merry Christmas buttons, car stickers. Put Merry Christmas on mail. Put it everywhere.
“...like I tell people who insist the holiday of lights parade in Denver is a secular event, try having it in February and see who shows up.”
This sort of anti-Christianity nonsense is getting ridiculous.
It’s the Golden Rule. He who furnishes the gold makes the rules.
Let’s change Ramadan to “Yeah, whatever”.
Actually, I didn't know this power company spent any money at all on things not part of power generation and distribution. So why are they getting involved in parades, and who are they to worry about the religious affiliations of some of their customers?
Just who are these pukes at Dominion?
I'm PO'd at them for using my monthly bill to force somebody to change the name of their parade, and there are pylons not a mile from here and these guys are all the time going to zoning hearings to demand more space for more pylons and access roads.
They rarely face the slightest bit of opposition, but when they do it's usually a handful of private citizens who spend nothing to complain, but Dominion has $1000 an hour lawyers by the phalanx at these hearings.
It is possible to cost Dominion's stockholders a million bucks in wasted legal fees with very little effort ~ and I know what to do.
If it is a holiday parade what holiday are they celebrating?
Canada is a newcomer to the use of "Dominion".

All I want for Christmas is my country back.
