Idiots watching TV being enslaved by the elites who own the networks and stations. Stupid sheep. Dhimini-hood awaits.

I recently had the pleasure of closing a deal with a smaller and rapidly growing Canadian company. They are a pleasure to deal with. Comparable American companies I have dealt with are flim flams, liars, drunks (literally) and cheats.

I mentioned something about TV and the Canadians laughed. They said we may watch a hockey game once and a while but TV is for idiots. I am hopeful they will pay in Canadian dollars versus worthless US dollars.

The False premise that free trade is bad destroys the cred of this article.

The OUTFORCING of American jobs is becuase of:
Over-Regulation, ESPECIALLY enviro
Over-Unionization, some of it FORCED Unionization
Over-Taxation, to the point of being consiscatory
UNLIMITED CIVIL LIABILTY

And it’s eean ever-increasing pace since 1975 (The UAW strike and the Clean Air Act)

Pretty much hit the nail on the head. Sad, most politicians aren’t willing to fix any of it, and most citizens don’t care. But at least for those who want true answers, they’ll keep looking until they find posts like this.

What about this statement made in the article :

“Many other nations impose extremely high tariffs on U.S. goods and put up ridiculous barriers to American products and yet the United States has generally let everyone else openly manipulate currency rates and flood our shores with whatever cheap products they want.”

How can this be considered free trade if true?

Pat Buchanan tried to warn the American people about this 17 years ago.

About a year ago I went on a trip to Ottawa as a consultant paid by the Canadians. They shorted me $200 bucks on expenses I incurred and took the better part of a year to make it right. I wasn’t impressed.

It is not the free trade agreements. It is the high taxes on business and the over-regulation and the continuing threats from Washington. There is no stable political/regulatory environment.

In the 19th century England embarked on a regime of free trade, one-way free trade. Other countries can impose all the tariffs and restrictions they wish. Those chains on their access to free trade hurt them, not their trading partners. The country that hampers trade the least will be the most prosperous. “Fair” trade is not free trade. It is hampered trade and directs capital to inefficient directions.Imposing tariffs because another country imposes tariffs is like saying, “Well!I’ll show you!” and then shooting off one of your own toes.

"Yet our politicians have allowed our manufacturing base to be systematically dismantled."

The politicians of both political parties do so in order to please the only constituents they listen to: socially perverted, anti-family, morally bankrupt free traitors, also of both political parties.

Yes, and many of them are behind the phony environmentalists, feminists and others (who are often family members, former or current employees or friends) who shut down attempts of other families to start new businesses. That's how they've competed against domestic production in the USA. As seen by the actions of their employed politicians in both parties, their own family members are the authors of political correctness.

what you are saying could be said in a few words...companies and people go for profit....will leave a country if they can get profit elsewhere...

notice that the industries that leave the US depend a lot on US consumers to keep their profits up....

we're being hung out to dry on both ends....

sadly, the quick and easy profit for tv makers, and frig makers, and shoe makers and clothing makers was to export the business....much money to be made off of the $1 a day laborers in Viet Nam, etc....

Exactly right. It’s not cheap foreign labor that kill our manufacturing, it’s our own corporate tax policy, regulation, and catering to unions that make companies want to move operations overseas. The cost of labor per manufactured unit is small compared to the cost of taxation, regulation, and outrageous union benefits.
