Halal: Another Invasive Tentacle of Islam

I keep trying to shout from the rooftop to warn everyone of the creeping Shariah law in our midst, but I wonder if anyone is listening. Tuesday, I read on Robert Spencer's website JihadWatch.org that Campbell's Soup Company of Canada is going halal. In case you're not familiar with the word halal, you need to know that it refers to food and other products, like cosmetics, personal care and clothing items that are produced or prepared in accordance with Islamic law.

Dealing specifically with food, halal-certified foods must be prepared following numerous, strict Islamic rules, many of them having to do with hygiene and cleanliness, but then you get into where halal standards require that animals be slaughtered by a Muslim and in the name of Allah. According to one halal website, http://www.halalguide.org/ the following are forbidden,

"Swine/pork and its by-products

Animals improperly slaughtered or dead before slaughtering

Animals killed in the name of anyone other than ALLAH...

Alcohol and intoxicants

Carnivorous animals, birds of prey and land animals without external ears

Blood and blood by-products

Foods contaminated with any of the above products"

From the same website comes this regulation on the slaughtering of food animals,

"Slaughtering must be performed manually by [a] Muslim of sound mind, mature and he fully understands the fundamentals and conditions related to slaughtering."

It is plain to see from those points that halal standards are incompatible with western civilization. We eat pork and we drink alcohol. There are some aspects of halal that we can all agree on like cleanliness--who wants to eat food prepared in a dirty environment? But, halal goes much further than just cleanliness. Halal cleanliness means that the utensils and equipment used in food preparation must not touch or even be near anything considered "unclean," like pork products and alcohol, and hey—what about us “unclean” infidels? Does that mean that a Christian or Jew cannot operate utensils or equipment in a company that tries to cater to halal standards? Hmmmm…

Recently, I was doing my shopping in a local Wal-Mart, and I purchased some cheddar cheese made by Cabot Creamery. I had been buying that brand of cheese for quite a while, but that day I noticed on the package the halal symbol--a green crescent with the letter M and the word "halal." Halal symbols vary, but once you know what to look for, you will easily notice them; they're usually small and discreet. I was astonished that Cabot was bending to the Islamist halal standards. Cabot is an American company out of Vermont, in business since 1919, according to their website. I contacted their company by email and expressed my opinion on their caving in to the Islamists. Of course, I did not receive a reply from Cabot Creamery, and of course, they have not received any more of my business, nor will they ever, unless they reverse their policy of bowing to the Islamists.

Scott Factor, of ScottFactor.com, recently wrote a report on Shariah law creeping into our food industries. In part, he said,

"Sharia law, that law by which the Islamic ideology is based, is what I like to refer to as a creeping crud. Although this illness is not officially recognized by the Obama administration, it is serious enough that if left untreated will cause great bodily harm or death to our country and our freedoms.

...It seems as though some United States food companies are now being compelled to operate under Sharia. Items you see in the grocery store every day are being made in accordance with Halal..."

Mr. Factor goes on to list some companies that have caved in to the Islamic halal agenda, including Tyson Foods, Kronos Foods, Tex-Med Beef Company, Tom's of Maine (personal care products), Nebraska Beef, and others. Another website, the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America, also catalogues an amazingly long list of halal products and companies.

Don't misunderstand me here. I'm all for a private company doing business in the way they desire, but I will not lend my support to companies who bow to the Islamists. This goes hand-in-hand with the invasion of Shariah finance laws that have been steadily creeping into our American banking system. While these companies should always be free to do business with whom, and as, they see fit, these companies need to understand that in their quest to make more money by accommodating the demands of the Islamists, they are further opening the door to the Shariah law invasion of our country.

I'm telling you, the Islamists are in a war against America and the entire West, and they are deadly serious about it. This war cannot be conventional, because the Islamists do not have the capability to take us on and defeat us militarily. It is a stealth war, where they are gradually slithering their Shariah law into our constitutional republic. Islamic Shariah law is completely incompatible with our Constitution and American way of life. There can never be coexistence between Islam and the West, and we must do all we can to stop the spread of Islam in America. I know many people will screech in outrage at that last sentence, and that's just too darned bad, isn’t it?! Those people need to wake up and smell the jihad!

So now we have the disturbing development that the Campbell's Company of Canada is bowing down to the Islamists--there goes the famous Campbell's pork and beans! Campbell’s of Canada is part of the global Campbell's Company, so it very much relates to Campbell's USA. Campbell's has a huge product line under numerous brand names, including Pace sauces, Pepperidge Farm, Prego, Swanson and V8. For a company as giant as Campbell's to bow to the Islamists is a disheartening thing, indeed.

Because many big companies only understand the common language of money, it may be an uphill battle to defeat Shariah’s spread into the marketplace, but we need to be aware of the insidious halal standards that are steadily creeping into our products. The very least we can do is contact these companies when we discover their practices and let them know that we will not stand for their support of the Islamic agenda, and then we put our money where our mouth is and don't buy from halal-friendly companies whenever possible.

Because Halal meat is sacrificed to idols (the false god allah), Christians are forbidden in the Book of Acts to eat it.

This is a little known dietary restriction for Christians, but very plain.

I would think the loss of the Christian market (once informed) should be significant.

This is a ridiculous article.

Companies want to have satisfied customers and make money. Many products are also Kosher and Muslims find that as acceptable as Halal. It is only food and you don’t have to buy it if that bothers you.

Wouldn’t surprise me if many companies say they meet Halal without having to change anything they are already doing.

Wrong! Halal is a sacrifice to allah and in Christian and Jewish faiths is forbidden. This will cause many Christians and Hebrews to boycott the products. Kosher means they have asked God's blessing, the animal is not sacrificed to anyone or anything.

A meat product that is Kosher cannot be Halal.

Well, you’re wrong. If you did just a little studying on what it means to produce under halal standards, you would understand that no company could be “halal” without taking great pains. Halal is anti-Western—period.

Your kind of thinking is exactly what the invading Islamists are counting on. I hope you enjoy your coming dhimmitude.

Matt 15: 10And he called the multitude, and said unto them, Hear, and understand:

11Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Acts 15:19

“It is my judgment, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. 20Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from food polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from the meat of strangled animals and from blood. 21For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath.””

Of course it doesn’t make you “unclean.”

What God wants is us to not participate and support pagans like muslims. It’s like baptism — not a matter of Salvation, just “best practice.”

God said, “don’t do it.” Good enough for me.

And good enough to stop creeping Sharia (or any other heresy), which is the underlying intent of God’s directive, not “cleanliness” or “uncleanliness” -— completely different theological topics.

I guess I’m going to have to give up my beloved Campbell’s bean with bacon soup. If its Halah I guess it will be bean with turkey bacon soup.
