This is hardly the first time law enforcement officials and social workers have cited "political extremism" to justify severe and extra-constitutional sanctions against people who have not been convicted of an actual crime.
Just a few months ago, police in Salem County, Massachusetts arrested an innocent man named Gregory Girard on palpably fraudulent criminal charges because his wife -- acting as a dutiful collectivist drone -- reported that he had developed "extremist" political views.
Those unsanctioned opinions, coupled with legal firearms purchases, led to Girard's arrest and detention as a "danger to the community" -- but he was never formally charged or prosecuted. He was simply taken into Soviet-style administrative detention while the local members of Lavrenti Beria's fraternity -- that is, the county prosecutor and judge -- tried to devise a criminal charge to justify his imprisonment.

Best regards to all,
No, I haven't.
Salem County, Massachusetts
If yer gonna have a witch hunt, this is the place to do it.
After Girard spent four months in jail without a criminal charge, his case was eventually "dismissed without a finding." He was designated a "ward of the court," compelled to undergo routine psychiatric evaluation and treatment, and notified that he could be arrested and subjected to indefinite detention at any time such action was deemed suitable by his persecutors.
And I think it's silly to gloss over this:
While there are reportedly some "very serious" criminal allegations involved in this matter, the focal point of the case should be this...I think they got Al Capone on tax evasion, not murder, extortion, racketeering, etc.
Apparently since you don’t also know that it turned out to be a pack of lies. The guy is a convicted abuser who’s failed to complete his court ordered counseling. There are also two other children who were removed from the household some time ago, long before he thought of claiming his status as an oathkeeper was to blame. There is nothing unusual about child services removing a newborn from a home where the other children have already been removed.
There is still a lot to this story we aren't hearing.
The neglect is allowing her children to be supervised by a deadbeat layabout criminal.
There is no Salem County in Massachusetts, just a city of Salem, which is in Essex County.
While I’m impressed by the author’s ability to reference Lavrenti Beria (some spell “Lavrentii” with two i’s, btw), naming a child “Cheyenne” gets a comprehensive thumbs-down.
And yes, I’ve read all the threads. Picking this putz as a victim of government oppression is an epic fail.
I have his name in a file of RKBA notes, but it doesn’t
have the source. Would not have recalled his name
without the mention in the column.
No one can argue the Weavers or Davidians were the sharpest knives in the drawer.
But they did not deserve extra judicial punishment at the hand of predatory Government Agents.
