VFW NATIONAL COMMANDER MOVES FOR DISSOLUTION OF POLITICAL ACTION COMMITTEE
EROSION OF PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR THIS ORGANIZATION CAN’T CONTINUE
October 18, 2010
I have reviewed the Political Action Committee (PAC) Board of Directors response to our request to rescind this years Congressional endorsements. I disagree with their assessment.
It is now evident to most of the VFW leadership, both National and especially the departments, that the VFW has been subjected to extreme negative publicity throughout the nation, and the recent endorsement decisions have, in fact, harmed the VFWs reputation and future ability to fulfill our mission.
I cannot let this erosion of public support for our great organization continue. The apparent lack of the committee to address these concerns will lead to a proposal by me, as Commander-in-Chief, to amend the by-laws at the 112th National Convention for the purpose of dissolving the PAC.
Meanwhile, under the authority granted to me as Commander-in-Chief in section 619 of the VFW National By-Laws and under section 620 of the Manual of Procedure, I am withdrawing all PAC appointments effective October 15, 2010.
Accordingly, Im asking the VFW national council for a vote of no confidence in the VFW PAC.
Commander-in-Chief

cool!
blog this all over
wow!
Keep fighting folks...it aint over till its over!
Didn’t VFW members stand with Blumenthal when he was caught in his big lie?
they should not dissolve the pac, they should just amend the rules so this does not happen again.
I am withdrawing all PAC all PAC appointments effective

yeah, I suspect some VFW member are democraps... surprisingly
Hear,hear!
Take it back to BOXER and lay it in her lap, Carly!!!
Take it back to BOXER and lay it in her lap, Carly!!!
Please don't confuse the VFW members with our PAC. IMHO, the VFW political action committee, such as it is (for as long as it lasts), never represented the views of individual members.
Sorry, I had forgotten about Blumenthal's photo-op where he had a few purported VFW members with him. If I'm not mistaken, none of them were acting in any official capacity for the VFW. I also believe that one or more of them was discovered to be as much of a phony as Blumenthal himself.
Does this have to do with Dingy Harry claiming VFW endorsement during the recent Angle/Dingy debate?
Subject: VFW Political Action Committee Endorsements for 2010

Per the Gallup poll on 9/16/2010, the US Congress' job approval rating is 18% and its disapproval rating is 77%, one of the lowest ratings ever. Thus I was apalled to see the list of congressmen and senators that VFWPAC endorsed for the 2010 election because it is almost the complete slate of incumbents that have caused our current economic problems. Your list included almost all of the Democrats who took power in January 2007 shortly before the current recession began, and includes such luminaries as:
Harry Reid (D-NV), the architect of Senate bills implementing Obama's failed policies
Barbara Boxer (D-CA), who publicly humiliated a general, and who is no friend of the military
Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), "we have to pass this bill so we can find out what is in it" and architect of House bills implementing Obama's failed policies
Henry Waxman (D-CA), a leftist who certainly is no friend of the military
Alan Grayson (D-FL), a lunatic and should be in an asylum, not Congress
Ron Klein (D-FL), who will surely get trounced by Lt Col Allen West in the election
Kendrick Meek (D-FL), who voted down the line with Nancy Pelosi and Obama
Joe Sestak (D-PA,) who who voted down the line on Obama's agenda with Nancy Pelosi.
I could go on and on, as your list contains a huge number of Democrats who will no longer be in Congress in January 2011, and the Republicans who replace them may not look very favorably on the VFW as a result of your 2010 endorsements.
Only a complete group of fools could have come up with your endorsement list, and it gives me reason to consider if I want to remain a VFW member if your leadership has such bad judgement--in any event, don't expect me to opt for Life Membership anytime soon.
Exactly.
Too bad the NRA doesn't realize how pissed so many of us long time supporters are at them for doing the same thing.
Which is why it had no business raising money and endorsing candidates in the name of the organization. Shutting it down it is the only appropriate response.
The NRA did NOT endorse Dingy Harry like the slime is claiming.
