It has been my understanding that this is a voluntary program. So was social security as I understand it.
There is no such thing as a voluntary governmnet program. Eventually they all become mandatory.

A new payroll tax plus Bush tax cuts expire on Jan 1 - who boy this is going to be a big hit for the workers.

It is actually much worse than this. Obamacare is going to require all workers to report healthcare coverage as income on the IRS forms. That's right, if you currently receive some form of healthcare coverage from your employer, you will have to report it as income even though you never see a dime of it.

Is it voluntary TODAY or not? Social security is not voluntary.
This new program will not be voluntary in about 6 months to a year. There is no such thing as a voluntary government program. They all end up being mandatory.
This is how we've been losing our freedoms. Letting the government institute these "voluntary" or limited programs which get extended and become more and more permanent.
ANYTHING the government does beyond defense and very little else is unconstitutional and must be opposed.
