Here is video of an Illinois crowd spontaneously rising to their feet to say the Pledge of Allegiance, even though the League of Women Voters’ Moderator had said they had no plan to do so. A man calls for a point of order to ask the moderator if they are going to say the Pledge, to which the moderator said, “No we are not.” As the moderator tried to explain why they would not be saying the Pledge – the crowd rose to their feet and began saying the Pledge!
Republican Joe Walsh – candidate for Illinois’ 8th Congressional District – says in the video that this was the best part of the entire forum! He is opposing incumbent Democrat Rep. Melissa Bean. God bless these patriots!

This is tha America I grew up with. I’m almost 60 and my Father and my 10 Uncles were all WW2 Vets. On Memorial and Veterans Day the entire town was at he parade and the vets marching led a long, long parade. In the intervening years the high school band in my current town outnumbered the spectators on Memorial Day. Something got way out of whack and to see this well it makes me a happy American.

Made me think of the guitarist, which reminded me that Joe Vitale (composer, collaborator and friend of JW) had a hit in 1982 that began with a snippet of a telephone conversation with Joe Walsh. The song was called "Lady on The Rock" (Vitale, Stephen Stills, Bill Szymczyk). A must-hear for those of you who love music and America.

A follow-up to yesterday’s post on the Pledge scandal in IL-08: it turns out that the League of Women Voters moderator (one Kathy Tate-Bradish) just happened to be a hardcore OfA member and Obama supporter. Everybody shocked, raise your hands… no, me neither. Admit it: you didn’t even think that she was anything except a typical Democratic elitist, right? And, oddly enough, you were clearly right to think that.
Also, guess what? The local LWV grand poobah thinks that the whole thing was a Republican plot. I don’t know what’s funnier: that the Democrats think that we’re plotting against them, or that they’re conceding that making Democrats recite the Pledge of Allegiance is a successful slam against their political party…”

Just about the time I begin to think America has been lost to the socialists, something like this happens. I feel a lot better today. There really is hope for our country to get back on track. Patriotism is a beautiful thing to behold when it’s spontaneous and heartfelt.
The Liberal Fascists are getting real scared. I think it is a good idea to have intimidating looking folks with you if you want to vidoe tape something. You have a right if it is a public forum. No violence, but most pencil-neck Communists are cowards, and they will probably find discretion the better part of valor, rather than make a scene and have video suppression go viral on Drudge or Fox News.
