According to a Daily News report, Republican Fran Becker, candidate for U.S. Congress, is surging in the polls to unseat 7- term incumbent Democrat Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (NY-4). No surprise here. As Congresswoman, McCarthy has proven to be a spokesperson for the Obama, Pelosi agenda; whereas, as Nassau County Legislator, Fran Becker has proven to be a spokesperson for Nassau County.
Less than two months ago, the Cook Political Report found District 4 a solid win for McCarthy in the November 2 election, today has the race within six points. On September 20 the National Republican Congressional Committee announced Fran Becker an On the Radar candidate, another shift in the right direction. In fact, the Daily News reports that internal Democrat polls show McCarthy with a slight lead. Fran Becker for U.S. Congress surging indeed!
Fran Becker has what it takes to win

Fran Becker discusses a weakening American economy:

As Congressmen I would work to get the federal government out of the way. A tax and over- regulatory environment in Washington D.C. paralyzes the market just when business needs reassurance to invest. Without an option for business owners to get a return on their investment, the economy cannot flourish, and jobs cannot be created. Unleashing the free market will create jobs.
