George Bush finally admitted failure, but not about what many would think. Former President Bush believes his biggest failure was on Social Security reform. Bush wanted to implement a semi-private . . .

The fact that George Bush finally admitted he made a mistake, whether or not it was the smallest and least noticed mistake of his time in office, is a huge step towards healing this country of all the denials we have heard the past 10 years from the Oval Office.

10 years? So I guess this idiot is including the 2 years of "denials" from Obama too.

MY personal opinion is that President Bush gave the liberal lunatics ‘gravitas’ and allowed them to run circles around him. Social security notwithstanding.

GWB received a bachelor’s degree from Yale in 1968. He then received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Harvard Business School. He is the first president with an MBA degree.

Bush was a lot smarter than any of the Dems he ran against...and a rocket scientist compared to BO.

BTW, whose assessment that Bush wasn't smart influences you? ... Jay Leno?... David Letterman? ... Michael Moore?...Joy Bahar?...Bill Mahar?...Chris Matthews?

Just because you don't agree with somebody doesn't mean they are dumb. He is probably smarter than you.

Bush’s BIGGEST failure was his PURPOSEFUL and INTENTIONAL REFUSAL to effectively secure our borders and protect the sovereignty of our nation. Instead, he tried to blackmail us...border security in exchange for amnesty.

His second biggest failure was his PURPOSEFUL and INTENTIONAL leadership role in the “Ownership Society’s” agenda to provide unearned mortgages to the poor/illegal aliens... resulting in the mess we are in. Mortgages in exchange for unemployed/undocumented’s Section 8 vouchers.

Any President with ties to the bipartisan CFR/OBL/New World Order crowd IS a progressive, plain and simple.

I won’t support/elect/settle for another one.

Sorry I disagree. Giving that old 'lyin' in the Senate charge over 'education' reform gave 'gods' of government types power over future voters. That is but one example when President Bush played the 'we can get along' dance. His new tone agenda chew him up and spit him out. '9/11' was and still is a two front 'war', and while he executed the line in 'their' sand front admirably he was completely blind as to the continual skirmishes going on right here in the USA.

Bush got a free pass because of his last name . . and that is the only reason he was elected President.

This is still one of the more important things we need to do.

He was right to try and do it. In the midst of dealing with the war it became politically impossible. Its still politically impossible, but maybe it will become possible again with whoever the next president is. Replace the old breed with the new breed in congress and what was impossible may become entirely possible.

No, but I think you are a troll who signed up a month ago. Your posting history, is VERY interesting. You don’t seem to have any use for many Republicans, and only superficial use for most conservatives.

Your opinion is highly suspect.

Uh no. Bill Clinton's slobbering all over the White House had a big hand in it too (cf, Clinton fatigue). Also, Gore's disasterous debate performance helped (cf, clown makeup and elitist sighing). Further, George Bush trounced McCain in the primaries even with so many Democrats crossing over to vote for him.

I do not question his intellect... that is the liberals weapon... ridicule a 'good man' as an attempt to destroy him not only politically but personally... see that is what I mean about liberal lunatics, they are destroyers. President Bush always put what he viewed the 'good' of the country first. What I do not know is IF he thought he could find in lying liberals buried deep in their souls the will to do right.

History will demonstrate the raving 'evil' lunatics exposed their dark side day one election 2000 and sit now atop the ruins of their insanity.

Well that could well be what took place, but we have a very active biased media who will carry the liberal lies as if the 'Gospel'. They sowed seeds of 'hate Bush' that I can literally court on one hand people I know that do not 'hate' all things Bush... and I am describing the WWJD Christians and liberal Catholics.... Hate Bush is more popular than hate the devil in my small dot on this globe.

He is a man who did his best and we were a country who needed such a man to step up and protect the United States. He has a heart of gold and knows he was hated and made fun of throughout his life. Thank you President Bush fore everythign you have done for this country. I will forever be grateful to him. God Bless President George W. Bush!

Harvard is where the ruling class learned to destroy the housing market and get rich at the same time.

I think history will show the Bush Administration was more successful at setting up the democrats for the midterm tsunami of 2010.

I find it funny that Henry Paulson jumped in front of the camera as if he were president and announced frantically the economy is collapsing. The funny part was that 99% of the population was unaware of the financial problems and responded appropriately. The problem could have been controlled gradually as long as the population remained calm. The fact the administration chose to break the news though a urgent news address, as they did, make me feel the only motives could have been a few. It really seems they decided to take down several birds with one stone. Keep John McCain from becoming president, expose the housing finance problems just before handing over power (expose it now, and let them get the blame later), and spend so much money on the way out that it would make Americans mad when the Dems started their spending spree.

I have felt this way from the moment Henry Paulson’s face hit the camera in 08. The coming midterm result are exactly what I expected . This is not a pro-republican turnout. It is a p.o’d electorate who wanted change, not fundamental restructuring or American Government and Public Policy. It is a people who saw massive spending and negligence at the end of 08 and only wanted that to change, and that change was not received. This Midterm election is about “change”.

Not really. No one ever said that Carter wasn’t bright. He was an ultra-liberal . . but he was smart enough.

We need someone who is smart this time around. Like Rubio or Pawlenty, even Chris Christie. Haley Barbour is also very smart, but don’t know if he is too old to capture the nomination.

Bush is a nice guy . . not very bright . .

I never got the impression that he wasn't bright, despite the leftist media's attempt to portray him that way at every turn.

I don't agree with everyhing Bush did (I can't imagine agreeing with ANY politican 100% of the time, though), but I'm sure glad he was at the helm when those terrorists flew planes into our buildings.
