Every time I fly and go thru the security line, I thank the Muslims.
As I haved mused before about Iraq and Afghanistan. The biggest mistake made by us was to not ensure that whatever form of government was established in those countries, it was ESSENTIAL that the American concept of Freedom of Religion be part of it. And that freedom should be vigorously enforced by the governments we set up.
That is the only sure way to ultimately pacify these places. However, allowing them to establish “Islamic” states was an error of the worst sort. Eventually, both Iraq and Afghanistan will move back to being enemies of the U.S. and West because we left Islamists in control.
Your post made me so angry, I will withold what I wanted to say because it would be unchristian!!!
“Where are Pope Urban II, Jan Sobieski, and Vlad Dracula when you need them??”
Actually Charles Martel would be a better choice.
The US should offer asylum to all Christians in the
muslim world immediately. And deny Visas for Muslims.
When we’ve been the only ones fighting these bastards for 1300 years?
I suppose the Hammer was protestant.
It simply amazes me that a Priest is killed, Parishioners horribly murdered, and people can still find a way to turn this terrible attack into a criticism of the Church as a whole.
I don’t care if this happened in Iraq. It is a horrible thing. At least discuss this topic in a sensitive way. If this were done to the Protestants over there I would be outraged for them. I wouldn’t look at it as something that they were responsible for. I definitely wouldn’t be attacking their religion! How horrible would it sound if I said “Well, the Baptists obviously won’t do anything about it, their too wimpy”.
No, I wouldn’t get too flamed!
Amen!!!!!
It's time to give nothing to terrorist nations. Time to say, hey maybe we like your oil, or maybe we owe you money but we find you're laundering money for terrorism, your screwballs are building bombs, then no more weaponry, no more nice relations we're going to TAKE your oil and we're going to never pay you back and we're blowing up ALL your holy places now get on your camel and leave this is now our country.
They do the same, kidnap a Jew, then want 3,000 terorists released and maybe they'll give back Shalit. The Catholic church is worlwide, they haven't an army to defend say their Indonesian churches( El salvador, etc) or Iraq so they're screwed but America by buying saftey should not be the enablers for more attacks.
Please folks, the Church came out with no such “edict.” This was the statement of one Melkite bishop who is the head of the AMERICAN Melkite Church. He himself was born in Lebanon and has been ravingly anti-Israel since forever. One of the problems is that Rome, for better or for worse, has a sort of hands-off attitude toward the Eastern Rites and their personnel.
However, he hardly reflects the official position of the Church, and in fact the official statement of the Synod was mostly a criticism of Islam and of the treatment they are receiving from Muslims in the Middle East now. The interesting thing is that L’Osservatore’s editor, the unpleasant liberal/leftist Fr. Lombardi who recently cleverly edited some remarks by a Latin American bishop to make it look as if the bishops were supporting contraceptives, cut most of their comments about Islam and they appeared only in the secular press and were not even widely reported there.
I agree. Saddam may have been a horrible dictator, but he was a secular dictator whose religion was basically himself and his Baathist party, and who occasionally invoked Islamic heroes such as Saladin when he felt his image demanded it. Things were much better for the Christians, and occasionally the more secular Muslims even comment on how much better things were for them when they weren't trapped in this fight between Sunnis and Shiites (or between more radical Muslims and everyone else).
Letting them enshrine Islam and sharia in their Constitutions was a major mistake.
“One report concerning the state of the Church after the security forces stormed in to attempt to rescue the Christians is particularly horrifying. It came from a police officer, “It’s a horrible scene. More than 50 people were killed. The suicide vests were filled with ball bearings to kill as many people as possible. You can see human flesh everywhere. Flesh was stuck to the top roof of the hall. Many people went to the hospitals without legs and hands.” It is time for an international outcry of catholics and other Christians. We must stand with out Christians brothers and sisters.”
Outcry will do nothing these Muslim Animals only understand Brute savage force. One can not reason with a poisonous Viper ,you cut it’s head off.
bfl
Christians had it better under Hussein than under a Muslim “democratic” form of government.
“Vlad was ....feared by Muslim Turks...”
That is how you deal with animals.

Expect moooooooderate US muslims to take to the streets and protest this barbarity. Our muzzies are soooooo much different from other muslims in the world. Just ask GW.
For some, "Democracy" is an idol.

Unfortunately many conservatives do not want to acknowledge the plight of the Iraqi Christians. They were better off before “nation building”.
