We now have the first sign that the new Republican majority in the House of Representatives will be holding the Obama administration accountable for it's over the top spending and hard to believe statistics. We also have the first sign of how the administration will react. Incoming Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-California) scheduled a meeting for today with Vice President Joe Biden, who oversees the administration's stimulus effort, to discuss accountability with regard to the $800+ billion stimulus bill and Mr. Biden has now postponed that meeting.

Mental image:
Issa walking down one of the halls of the Capitol, sees Biden, and yells out:
“Mr. Vice-President, Mr. Vice-President, could I talk to you for a second, please?”
Biden sees an unlocked janitor’s storage room, opens the door and steps in, hears Issa walking by, “Mr. Vice-President...now where did he go?”
Darrell just has to have the committee rule that if the Chairman unilaterally postpones a meeting with Congress again, he will be held in contempt of Congress with fines and imprisonment as appropriate.
Even Biden should find that to be instructive.
As if they are overseeing anything but the destruction of the economy.
