Democrat Media Hosting Republican Presidential Debates
Red Meat Conservative ^ | 11/12/10 | Daniel

Presidential primary politics has already begun to percolate into the media following the midterm elections.  There is now discussion of hosting the first GOP primary debate at the Reagan Library as early as this coming spring.  While many conservatives are upset that we are already contemplating debates before the field of candidates is set, I have another bone to pick concerning this development.

Politico announced yesterday that they will be sponsoring that debate at the Reagan Library along with ...... NBC news!  This is astounding.  We have already ceded over the general election debates to be controlled and orchestrated by the Democrat media.  Do we need to have them moderate our own primary debates as well?  Keep in mind that these media types live in a very different world than we do, and their policy premises and understanding of the political dynamic makes them unqualified to moderate a debate among conservatives.

We should have at least one debate that is moderated by a panel of respected conservative journalists, talk radio figures, and others who would frame the debate in a meaningful way to conservatives. Yet, we are going to let those who garner vociferous antipathy towards conservatives have the opportunity to influence the selection of our leader!  Do we really need moderators who will ask the candidate what they will do to curb global warming?

Are we really going to let them help pick our candidates again?

I despise the leftist media.

I remember during the debates one MSM figure asked (paraphrased) Obama why do you want to raise taxes when history shows it actually drives down the revenue?

He basically answered because it’s not fair certain people have too much money.

Nobody picked up on it. Now they are all acting surprised.

Duh, they ran the 2008 election debates too. All liberal moderators. Final presidential debate was moderated by an Obama supporter who had a Pro-bama book scheduled to be released on January 20, 2009. The financial interest alone should have caused elimination from the job.

At a campaign stop, he was also pressed on some economic questions and confessed that he didn’t know economics so well but assured us that he would hire people smarter than him for those matters. I asked at the time why didn’t we just audition THOSE people for president instead?

The only way to change this is for Conservative media to set up and have debates too.

I am sure it could be done. What would be really novel would be to actually debate.

Too many are set up to let the moderator do the debating.

Is this Steel’s revenge on conservatives? Politico is a Hillary-supporting arm of the Democrat Party and NBC is their mouth piece. Are Republicans INSANE???

You are exactly correct. LEFTIST QUESTIONS arise from a completely different set of assumptions and view of the world. By allowing the LEFTIST frame the discussion, the conservative solutions can be minimized. The candidates can be made to appear odd and eccentric and out of touch.

Who the hell is making these decisions? Can’t the Republican Party learn anything at all?

What do you mean “our primaries”? Ruling Class picks the republican liberal for us. Like here in California.

Barack Obama flat out refused to participate in a Fox News debate.

I think there may have been a talk radio sponsored debate at a historically black college some Republican candidates went to (not the ones leading in the 2008 campaign though).

Treat a debate like a jury pool. BOTH parties get to offer up names for the panel of moderators. BOTH parties get to knock away at some of the offerings.

Otherwise Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert WILL be moderating a SeeBS/MTV/Comedy Central/Nick debate in 2012.

I think if some of these states are going to front load the primaries, they should be venturing ALL of their election primaries on the same day, not running presidential primary in February and state offices in May.

It also permits them to frame the "concerns" of the public.

The article says Democrat media hosting republican presidential debates.

These are Primary debates between republicans.

Your idea as to the national debates between the chose candidates is about all that can be done.

I smell the distinct, acrid smell of Romney money behind the Reagan Library debate. It smells like RINO gas.

Conservative candidates should refuse to participate in any debate that doesn’t have half of the questions coming from journalists of their choice.

If Obama can refuse, so can we.

Agree not to go to any debate that seems weighted in Rat favor. Have a repub debate with no candidate showing. That would end this bs. Including the 2012 cluster f.

There were also rumors that Hillary had been provided debate questions prior to the debate.

A rigged debate is a rigged election.

Americans know of the Twenty-One gameshow scandal but have no interest in knowing if we have honest debates and honest elections.

“It also permits them to frame the “concerns” of the public.”

-

Which is a trick liberal “journalists” use to state their own opinions.

This is so stupid. It’s still very early in the process - plenty of time to turn this stupid ship around.

Palin and Rush should pick up on this.

We don’t need the liberal media. Seriously. Just cut them out of the process.

Totally.

Okay, an idea. How about someone going to FOX with a proposal?

Maybe have a televised GOP primary debate hosted and moderated by Rush Limbaugh(if you could get him to do it) and FOX contributor Laura Ingraham?

I think they could undercut any silly Politico sponsored pap replete with made to order lefty questions that make dem ideas look like the mainstream thought.

FOX could get a giant audience. They wouldn’t do it, of course, if they couldn’t.

I got ahold of a pre-release copy of the debate questions:

  1. President Obama, clearly the most prescient and intelligent President ever, looks like he will be stopped and harassed by Conservatives and Republicans at every turn. That may impede his incredible progress. Why are you guys so evil?

  2. Nancy Pelosi, the most graceful and amazing House Speaker ever, will be replaced by one of the GOP caucus. Why are you guys so evil?

  3. Could you please expound on the answer to the question, "Why are you guys so evil?"

  4. Someday we plan to march all of you into the Camps. Some of you will resist. Why are you guys so evil?

The RINOs are looking to hit before the tea party candidates have a chance to coalesce.

They want to be the new mccain.

According to statistics from HUD, your proposals would leave 3 million homeless dying in the streets. Do you think the deaths created by your proposals are offset by the welfare payment savings?

There were rumors in latest gubernatiorial debates in New York that Andrew Cuomo had the questions ahead of time. Given his flawless and very canned responses, IHAVE NO DOUBT this occured. The LEFTIST media cannot be trusted. When are the Republicans going to wake up and realize thast the media is nothing more than a AGITPROP arm of the Communist RAT Party. The MEDIA is evil.

Journolist-gate exposed 400 partisan journalists colluding to supress negative news items on Obama in the 2008 election cycle.

The DNC has colluded with the MSM on a number of campaign matters (generally October surprises) including “the Bush national guard memos”, “the vast culture of corruption that rises to the top of the GOP” (aka Foleygate).

They are not to be trusted in the least. Amercians need to wake up.
