Here is video of former President George H.W. Bush being asked by Larry King what he thinks of the “Tea Party.” Bush 41 said he wasn’t sure what to think about it:

“Well, I don’t know what it really is, Larry. Some of the ideas make a lot of sense. . . . I’m confused by it, frankly, but I think it’s alright.”

It was referenced as "Trickle Down Economics" by Reagan and "Voodoo economics" by GHWB.

It was the Dems who derisively termed "supply-side" economics, "trickle-down."

“He knows damn well what it’s about..”

Of course he does. If he doesn’t, he needs to stay home and watch cartoons. My kids understand the movement completely. Any person knowing even the smallest amount of how this country was formed would understand the Tea Party Movement. Me-thinks he is a little confused because of Jeb and the fact he is a RINO and not being well liked by the TP’s. Just a thought.

He’s confused alright but I’m not so sure about the “good and decent”. I voted for him, but what I saw then wasn’t what I got.

Well, GHW, if you'd quit staring at those "thousand points of light". perhaps you could clear your mind and end your confusion.

Bush has led such a privileged life, that “good” though he may very well be, he has no idea how average Americans are suffering. Oblivious to reality, he can only claim confusion.

Of course he doesn’t understand the Tea Party. His lack of understanding, along with that of many other entrenched party power brokers explains why the country have been constantly been going progressive for the last 20 years. We elect these guys expecting a reduction of government but once in, they think it’s all about them.

We think we are voting for small government conservatism but they just see it as us approving them to enjoy the perks of status quo cronyism. If I were in their position, I probably wouldn’t understand the Tea Party either.

Brain dead H.W was confused as to whether thousands of engineers from Hong Kong who owned businesses and thousands of patents should be allowed legal immegrant status to the united states when the bailed out of Hong Kong before the Communists regained it. A simple executive order whould have sufficed.

Instead they mostly went to Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Indonesia - taking their intellectual property with them.

H.W. Bush was a one termer for a very good reason, and much as I loathe the Clintons H.W's own bull in a china shop blunders paved the way for slick Willie.

Barbara probably slapped him on the back of the head later and told him what a dumb answer that was...”honestly, George!!”

Barbara knows dumb. When asked a few days ago about Palin, she said Palin should stay in Alaska.

yes, his compassionate conservatism helped foster onslaught
of illegals begun by clinton. he has no idea the havoc these
people have wreaked on schools, hospitals, law enforcement,
jobs. he seems to feel that people who don’t play by the rules are more
deserving than law abiding citizens and legal immigrants.
