DeMint sets sights on four Dems in 2012 (WOO-HOO!)

South Carolina Sen. Jim DeMint (R) is turning his attention to 2012 and using the vote this week on an earmark moratorium to pick his Democratic targets.

DeMint sent an email to the supporters of his Senate Conservatives Fund early Wednesday highlighting four Democrats who voted against the earmark ban, are up for re-election in 2012 and sit in states that John McCain (R) carried in 2008: Sens. Jon Tester (Mont.), Ben Nelson (Neb.), Kent Conrad (N.D.) and Joe Manchin (W.Va.).

In the email, DeMint called for unseating Tester, Nelson, Conrad and Manchin.

"These senators are nice folks but they have ignored the will of the American people and they must be replaced with principled conservatives in 2012," he said. "That's where the Senate Conservatives Fund comes in and it's where you can help. We've already begun the process of building campaigns against these other liberals in the Senate who are driving our nation deeper and deeper into debt."

DeMint went on to ask for money -- stating that his fund will need "at least $4 million" to win the four races.

“Maybe this is the rational way to start the cleanup.”

I believe it’s a great place to start.

I also believe that the GOP needs to brand the RINO’s and target them for removal too.

LOL. Oh yeah, you're right. He got our 2010 message!

She is not qualified. She would be a great VP. She is not Pres material.

Hey lumper, shake your pantleg and get that big brown lump out, the smell is making you stupid.

If she is not qualified and is not Presidential material, why would she be a great VP.

The number 1 job of the VP is to replace the President should that become necessary.

She is qualified, being 35 years old, has a birth certificate and can prove she is a Natural Born Citizen and has lived for the past 14 years in the USA.

It's in the Constitution, you can look it up or do you know of other qualifications that are written some where else in the Constitution?

Your opinion of qualifications don't mean squat and should be labeled as such.

“These senators are nice folks...”

Love ya Jim, but stop it, just stop it.

No worries. Sometimes a wolf’s gotta smile to show his fangs. Jim knows exactly what he’s doing.

They praised one another for their efforts in Novermber’s elections, prior to the election. Both were the hardest and most visible workers trying to get conservatives elected. Sarah Palin was most visible because she always commands the national news, but both she and DeMint backed and supported several of the same Tea Party candidates.

But is she qualified to deal with North Korea on the brink of war or a nuclear armed Iran? That’s the real question.

Not if their hard core is commie pink. No RINOs ever — this means you Mitt.

This argument is specious. Why would you want someone to be VP that you don’t think is presidential material?

We need more Palin, more DeMint, and more Pence. Those three are the full spectrum conservative choices. The rest are either one sided conservatives or RINOs. Out of those three, Palin has the most executive experience, the least beltway experience, and is most favored by “we the people.” If there are any others, they need to become visible soon or they will have to wait till next time.

Interesting to see Manchin on this list. He’s in an unusual position because he was just elected to fill the seat vacated by the late Robert Byrd (D-KKK), but he has to run again in two years when Byrd’s term was originally going to end. To that end, I’ve predicted that he’s going to carry himself in the U.S. Senate for the next two years in a way that will make even a lot of Republicans look like Marxists.

I admire DeMint more with each passing day. I hope he’s pro-Palin.

Huh? What does being "pro Palin" have to do with anything? DeMint is doing what every Republican should be doing. He's doing his job.

Furthermore, I doubt there is any Conservative who does not admire Palin's patriotism, Conservative principles, and drive in doing what is right for America.

Love ya Jim, but stop it, just stop it.

The future of our country is hanging in the balance. This is no time for niceties. These people are the enemy.

He's acting like a gentleman and displaying decorum; something that democrats are incapable of doing. Would you prefer to have him tell the dems to "F-Off" in public?

Huh? What does being "pro Palin" have to do with anything?

Perhaps his comment would have been better stated as "I hope he is not irrationally anti-Palin in a knee-jerk fashion", as some pundits and pols have turned out to be. This would matter only insomuch as it might reflect on his tendency to logically think through an issue instead of responding emotionally.

I have my own issues with Palin, but I can usually tell the difference between a principled disagreement and gratuitous Palin-phobia as often seen in the media.

Sorry about Palin to you fans. She is not qualified. She would be a great VP. She is not Pres material. Yes, she makes Zero look bad. We cannot afford anymore experiments with this economy. We need a hard core businessman.

I agree. Sarah is best at what she's doing. Campaigning for Conservatives, and her track record is truly incredible!

I don’t have any idea where that hair came from that’s apparently stuck in your backside. I admire both of those folks, but it IS important to me that they are on the same page and I think they are.

So, take your pissy mood and go try it on someone else. I thought that you had passed your clot a long time ago... I guess not, Sport.

He’s probably astute enough to realize his only long-shot hope for national office is probably as a pick of veep by Palin.

Huh? DeMint as Palin's Veep? Now that's funny.
