Have You No Shame, Charlie Rangel?
Before Its News ^ | 12/07/10

The fallen Representative has no shame. In a Nixonian riff he insists "I am not corrupt," and with an Alice-in-Wonderland logic insists he was not motivated by personal gain. Excuse me? Didn't tax boss Rangel personally profit by not reporting rental income to the IRS from his Dominican Republic villa for the last dozen years? Didn't he personally profit by improperly accepting rent controlled apartments instead of paying for much higher market value units? Didn't he personally gain by soliciting charitable donations on his Congressional letterhead since the "charity" was an education center bearing his name as a self-aggrandizing monument to his massively inflated ego?

* * *

Meanwhile, on Saturday Rangel returned home to his Harlem constituents with a hero's welcome and a standing ovation as reported by Tina Moore for the Daily News: "Insisting that his colleagues were bowing to political pressure, Rangel remained defiant and confident, saying he was 'not guilty of corruption or self-enrichment.'" As P.T. Barnum once said: "You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you cannot fool all of the people all of the time." Rangel's constituents must be those people whom can be fooled all of the time since they ushered him into a 21st term last month with 81 percent of the vote. Or maybe his constituents simply are standing up for corruption.

He has no shame... feels no guilt or remorse... but he will... he will feel all of this and more than one can fathom... in hell.

If he had any shame, he would not be a democrat.

If all of society had any shame, there would be no democrats.

Charlie’s constituents are not fooled at all.

They are proud that Charlie stuck it to “the man”.

They know Charlie is a thief and a crook, and they are proud that he got away with it.

It’s a black thing. You wouldn’t understand.

Anything that gives the perception of sticking it to “the man” is just fine in the black community.

I agree. When will people realize that we all act in our own ethnic interest? Christians are outraged that muslims won't condemn the radicals; white people can't understand why blacks vote in step with Democrat slime balls; and Democrats are opposed to ANYTHING a Republican believes in and vice versa. We conservatives are not immune to this: we were all for the Freedom Act and the intrusion into personal lives yet we object to the TSA’s intrusion into our albeit more personal lives. Human nature just keeps churning along and to expect any large-scale change is just insanity.
