That disgusts me. I am so sick of government thinking our money is there's for the taking. For any reason at anytime. As far as I'm concerned they are no better then the mob who would shake down people for money and beat them up or kill them if they didn't get it. What's the difference?

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind paying my fair share of taxes. But, they have gone to far, way to far. The waste, mismanagement, abuse and all the hand outs have become excessive.

I’m sure we mostly agree here about this, but I’ll state it since Mr. Weiner is playing class warfare.

Dollars that a person saves represent work units in their lives. They choose to work to gather these dollars and save them. Work units invariably are time based.

Stealing those dollars, whatever the circumstances, is stealing time from a person’s life. I.e. if you steal $X from me, you are taking Y hours of my life’s work.

When someone dies, they bequest those time units to people they deem worthy of their hard work.

Estate taxes, which are on after tax dollars, are the same. They are taking time and confiscating it from a dead person, without regard to that person’s wishes for those after tax dollars.

In other words, that person was enslaved by the government for a period of their life.

We can take it further. Let’s say a moderate income earner invested well and saved. Maybe his marginal income tax rate over his life was 25%. Now, 35% of his remaining money is confiscated at death. That means 48.75% of his time was spent working for his heirs. The other 51.25% was spent working for the government.

Weiner is a typical out-of-control lib. He was making faces at Megyn like a two-year-old sassing his mommy. He is so immature and rude.

What kind of people voted this dork into office?

2. They need our money because they have spent unwisely
3. They work for us and we need to fire them for poor management instead of giving them more money to spend unwisely.

Death taxes are the way the government keeps the poor poor. If you are poor and work hard your life to try to get ahead and lift your children up, you will be punished for trying to improve the lot of your family.

Estate taxes (and, I contend, property taxes) are about as anti-AmericanDream as you can get.

Thank you. In many ways they have ruined S. FL. We went up to Clearwater for a little vacation this weekend. Totally different sort of people. Now, mind you there are some very nice people here, but lots and lots of transplants here that walk around angry all the time. Rude— and the men. If I open a door to a store the men will push right past me and go in! It really took me aback the first few times. Now I’m used to it. No manners at all. This southern girl was totally shocked. I guess they are raised by wolves.

I am so sick of hearing the rich don't NEED a "taxcut"!!

It's their money but liberals think they have a right to just take as much as they want to pay off their reckless spending spree!!!

Just who is it out there, hiring, expanding, building and taking all the risks???

This penalizing the rich has got to stop!

Weiner obviously has no understanding that some individuals work their whole lives to build a business, farm or ranch and pay taxes all the time they are doing so not being able to pass that business farm or ranch on to their heirs because the government demands double taxation when they die.

I remember going to a Tea Party Rally in the spring in opposition to the Healthcare Bill. As we were in line to enter the halls of Congress, Weiner walked out the front doors and people were booing. He had that deer in the headlights look. It is funny how people tend to act big and tough or more like an a-hole when they don’t have a group around them. He should have to hold a town hall meeting and repeat the same things he said to Megyn Kelly to a live crowd. I predict a weiner performance.

The problem is that very few people have more than $5,000,000 available in cash at any time. Their assets are invariably encumbered in some way. Unfortunately each estate will have to be probated to maximize the tax amount (that is what the government wants!). The probate process is very expensive. The cost of disposing of enough assets to cover estate taxes and associated costs are substantial.

If the deceased owns properties and production/ transportation facilities partial liquidation may be virtually impossible. The market for the business itself may be impaired. None of this matters to the vampires. The process will destroy businesses and their shareholders.

The money and resources you earned and were taxed on while you were alive will have half of it taken in taxes from your heirs. A small business would have to be sold to pay the death tax putting several people out of work.

It's not their money; they're DEAD," he kept repeating in as haughty a manner as possible. And "it's not the heirs' money; they didn't earn it!"

The rights of the producer of the wealth are relevant here. The producer, through the concept of ownership, has the right to use and dispose of his own property while he is alive, which includes being able to choose the recipient of his property after he is dead.No one else is entitled to make that choice. When libtards denounce inherited wealth, it is the right of the producer that they in fact are attacking.

Rep. Weiner is an s.o.b. He is an example of an unthinking taker - a loud tick on an animal infested with them. The death tax is at least triple taxation. Up his and the death tax should be stopped tomorrow - with torches and pitchforks if necessary - not that that will ever happen, just saying.

No one owns anything in this corrupt governments eyes

After hearing this jerk, I am beginning to believe a quote by Senator Menendez may actually be an accurate quote. I had originally discounted it because it was more arrogant and ignorant than any quote I felt a Congressman would utter.

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) declared that Republican demands for extending tax cuts are “terroristic.” The comment came amid negotiations between Republicans and Democrats over the so-called “Bush tax cuts” that are due to expire on December 31 of this year.

“They want us to approve an across-the-board extension of these tax cuts,” Menendez complained.

“They say that taxpayers deserve to keep more of their own money. Their money? Congress is who decides whose money it is. We make the laws. We can distribute this money as we see fit for the benefit of the whole nation.”

Someone please tell me he was misquoted.

The "progressives" think all wealth is public property, and individuals are only "allowed" to contribute their lifelong labor to temporarily have use of some of it.
Until they die.

Then it all has to be returned for recycling. A good thing.

But not everybody.
The majority of the voters who elect said "progressives" don't need to contribute labor at all. None. Zip. Often for generations.

So what's unfair about that?
