According to NBER.orgthe National Bureau of Economic Research, the recession officially ended June, 2009.
Yet unemployment just went UP to 9.8%.
So we are not in recession folks; we have been out of it since mid-2009. What is keeping unemployment so HIGH?

Because we’re downshifting from capitalism to communism? That’s about all I can come up with that may be causing it.
I think I remember reading that the only reason the GDP is above recession levels is that government spending is counted as part of the GDP. In other words...it’s not over.
Because the depression started after the recession ended.
no inflation either.
Inside the Beltway, all is joy and rapture.
We are marching to Buchenwald.
Somewhat, I think you’re right. As the article states, Obamacare has a lot to do with it with increased costs.
Those costs weigh heavily on business decisions, as well as a lack of faith in Obama to handle things according to the law (e.g. GM takeover/stiffing the bondholders).
it isn’t over just because obamanation says it’s over. he is a proven liar to the American people.
Writing is on the wall for Obama/2012.
If unemployment doesn’t go below 8%, he’s done, no matter who GOP runs.
I believe part of the problem is uncertainty in the market place brought on my the lack of direction in the gov on everything from taxes to health care. Setting a direction and going whether right or wrong would be better that what we have now. Nobody can predict anything with obama going back and forth and the dems and demlites, er, rhino repubs running us into the ground. The incoming repubs have 3-6 months at best to right this mess or we are screwed for a long time.
Problem is this ain’t the 1930s; FDR couldn’t exist today.
...and the Left says the Right is out of new ideas. LOL.
The numbers are BS. I drive around and see places for sale and for rent that haven't been unoccupied during my 38 years here. I know people I used to work with who are out of work and have no hope of getting another job. The mall parking lots look like they do in June. All but one of the of the businesses that I've done work for in NJ exist anymore. It's just great out there.
