Republican Party of Florida Party Loyalty Oath I, _______________________________, swear and/or affirm that during my term of (Name of Member Please write clearly) office I will not actively, publicly, or financially support the election of any candidate other than the Republican Candidate in a partisan unitary, general or special election, or a registered Republican in non-partisan elections, other than Judicial races governed under Florida Statute 105, if there is a registered Republican running for the same office.
Since there is no formal process to remove myself from this Oath (If I have ever actually taken it) I hereby publicly renounce any oath of allegiance to the Republican Party.
Any FReepers care to join me?
Are you sure you missed a satire tag somewhere?
I have no party affiliation to begin with.
I wonder if gov. Charlie the bone smuggler signed it before he jumped to independent.....
let’s be Frank.....
let’s be Frank.....
let’s be Frank.....
Functionally I departed the Republican Party a long time ago. But I never actually formally RESIGNED from this Oath. Not sure if I ever signed one or not when I joined the Leon County Republican Executive Committee 10 years ago. Thought about bringing a bunch of GOOOH/TEA Party members into the LCREC but can’t do so in good conscience as long as this OATH is still required. I am officially a NON-PARTISEN constitutional conservative.
Republicrats, NO.
Tea Party Republicans, YES.
I only ever took one such oath, and it was to protect and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. If the latter includes Republicans, then so be it. It sure as hell includes a lot of Democrats.
Surely you jest.

I thought loyalty oaths were something only Communists and Democrats required.
With the Rockefeller Republicans running the Party what is the difference?
no jest... hot topic at many local rec meetings
So which office are you resigning from in order to repudiate this oath?
I don’t currently hold any PARTISEN office that I know of.. but I think I ran for a precinct chair 10 years ago and was required to sign this oath.. I think.. I have no record of such, but this “oath” topic has come up a lot lately with grassroots NON-PARTISEN constitutional conservatives being asked to take precinct chair positions for their local Republican Executive Committee. Many sign the oath without thinking about it. I can’t in good conscience sign it and therefore can’t take one of those seats unless they remove the OATH requirement.
Will the honorable constitutional limited government, conservative great-patriotic American (who used to hold citizenship in three other countries and was also in three previous marriages), Dr. William M. Escoffery III, M.D., surging challenger to the treasonous GOP establishment little evil RINO punk Marco Rubio (who is running scared from the political onslaught that Dr. III is bringing), join you in denouncing the Republican oath? :-)
If Dr. Escoffery III is denouncing the oath as well, it’s a sure sign that other Republicans will join him! I don’t think I’ve seen a person as impressive as the great legendary Dr. William M. Escoffery III, M.D. He is a guranteed Presidential nominee in two years.
The Republican Party is dead, they just don’t know it yet.
*snickers*
Ok. Well, you gotta pay to play so if you choose not to be a Republican PARTISAN to occupy a Republican Party chair, then I guess you'll have some free time on your hands. Frankly after what Charlie Crist just did to the Party I'd say you have about a snowball's chance in Hell of getting them to dump this requirement. Not that that is your true aim anyhow.
The ONLY oath I will take is to the US Constitution. I owe no loyalty to any party OR the government.
Well, I guess this is all well and fine (or maybe not), but I think all bets would be off the table if they had a nimrod like Dan Maes (Colorado’s Republican answer to Alvin Green) running for Florida governor!
My advice: Attend better meetings.

I once took an “oath”. I’ve been divorced two years. You’re free to do what you want. I can’t think of a better party though. Don’t give up.
LOL... well the current structure of the Republican Executive Committee(s) in Florida are by County and District. I suppose you CAN attend a meeting in a county you don’t live or vote it... honestly that thought never crossed my mind.. do you know of any REC’s that don’t require the “loyalty oath”?
I took the Florida Republican Party oath here in Hillsborough County, FL this year (alongside several other Tea Partiers, I might add). My oath did not resemble the one you have presented here (it didn’t mention anything about financial support for candidates, for example).
Can you post the OATH that you took that would be helpful to this discussion. Thanks
BTTT
My experience in the Republican Party has been interesting. One thing I have noted is that the Tea Party really exerts only very slim influence within the Party. I'm hoping to see that influence grow during this next election cycle, otherwise I may be following in your footsteps.
Tea Party folks have more power operating OUTSIDE the GOP !
RNC is dead.... IMHO
My wife and I are operating both inside AND outside the GOP. We’re in too much of a hurry to get things fixed to focus on just one approach.
I understand your point and many “independent conservatives” are taking the same approach.. As a potential candidate for public office myself I don’t want to be accused of “using” the Republican Party to get elected and then not abide by the “OATH”.... The more independent conservatives that abandon the GOP the better.. IMHO
I take it one step further.. anytime I get a postage-paid envelope asking for a donation I send them a letter requesting a REFUND for past donations.
I wont take it.
dalebert if you don’t mind my asking have you EVER taken the Republican Oath? Few FReepers can say they have NEVER taken the Oath IMHO, but many have abandoned it over the years. I can’t believe I have waiting this long to publicy renounce it.. again not sure if I every formally took it or not, it is likely that I have so I feel compelled to make a public statement renouncing it :)
TOWARD VICTORY in 2012 ! <— The year of the INDEPENDENT CONSERVATIVE MOVEMENT !
This thread calls for a tagline change
well...I am not sure either..but would not take it today.
dalebert,
Thanks so much for that comment. I know there are MANY FReepers who feel the same way ! We are not leaving the GOP.. the GOP/RNC has left it’s conservative roots. I am convinced that the constitutional conservatives are awake and will exert their INDDEPENDENT CONSTITUTIONAL CONSERVATIVE POWER in 2012 ! No need for the GOP/RNC, the RINOS control it and they can keep the beast that they have created!
Now let’s GOOOH !
Pass it on
So much for his pet project GOOSH. He just tried to get us to vote for Alex Sink a couple days before the election!!!
Never have, never will. I took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution, that is the only oath I still swear by.
LOL.. Back to the old “Osborne voted for Alex Sink garbage” really? That is getting really old my FRiend... My so called “endorsement” of Alex Sink was in jest and the thread was pulled from FR because too many FReepers didn’t think it was funny... I voted for Rick Scott but I refused to PUBLICLY endorse him for many reasons... we could have done MUCH better IMHO... these facts are well documented on FR and every FReeper who talked to me personally about this at the time I made that “endorsement” got that....
Amen !
Yeah, Yeah, I hear you loud and clear, and I thought it was appropriate just let people know your “jest” aka a ploy you very aggressively pursued until the “Big Kahuna” escorted your thread to the exit door, LOL!!!
Have you taken the Republican Party Loyalty Oath?
How does that go???
See post 1 on this thread
Every GOP fund-raising letter in our mail box, or e-mail is returned with red text: "No money from here, until you start pursue Barry Soetoro's ineligibility as a none NBC required by the CONSTITUTION. When that happens, then we can talk"!!!
