Media Excuse Obama’s Power Grab
Right Side News ^ | December 26, 2010 | Cliff Kincaid

Juliet Eilperin of the Washington Post reported on Friday that “the Obama administration is prepared to push its environmental agenda through regulation where it has failed on Capitol Hill…” There was no hint that this approach is illegal or unconstitutional. The account simply assumes that the Obama Administration can do what it wants, no matter what Congress or the law says.

This kind of matter-of-fact reporting about lawlessness by the federal government is typical of the decline, if not death, of adversary journalism in the nation’s capital.

The EPA’s actions seem to reflect the advice contained in the Soros-funded Center for American Progress report, “The Power of the President. Recommendations to Advance Progressive Change.”

The problem for the administration is that the new House of Representatives is going to be controlled by Republicans who have pledged fidelity to the Constitution. Rep. Fred Upton, incoming chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, declared, “We will not allow the administration to regulate what they have been unable to legislate—this Christmas surprise is nothing short of a backdoor attempt to implement their failed job-killing cap-and-trade scheme.”

The lawless tone has been set by Obama himself, who says that the admission of open homosexuals into the military must be done “swiftly.” That is not what the law says. The law requires that the president, the secretary of defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs certify that any changes must be “consistent with the standards of military readiness, military effectiveness, unit cohesion, and recruiting and retention of the Armed Forces.” It is far from clear whether this can be done.

Obama noted that “the old policy remains in effect” until that certification is made. However, he went on to acknowledge that he has, in effect, ordered the service chiefs to go along. He said, “…I have spoken to every one of the service chiefs and they are all committed to implementing this change swiftly and efficiently. We are not going to be dragging our feet to get this done.”

The service chiefs had opposed repeal of the Pentagon’s homosexual exclusion policy. So their “commitment” to “swiftly” implementing the new policy, as Obama describes it, is obviously being done under pressure.

Is the President encouraging a false certification in order to quickly implement the change and please his homosexual supporters? Is he asking the service chiefs to lie? Will they go along or resign in protest? This is a major story being ignored by our pro-gay media.

After the certification is made, the congress has 60 days to review the proposed changes. This means that Rep. Buck McKeon, incoming chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, has an opportunity to quiz the service chiefs about any illegal White House pressure and what questionable measures are going to be taken to force soldiers to accept homosexuals in their showers and foxholes.

An extremely costly experiment in proving to the world that the USA is not prejudiced against electing a candidate whose nationality is yet unknown. Further the White House is occupied by an America-hating muslim communist!

The occupant is a puppet president.

So where is the congressman who will stand up and say, "Just who in the hell do you think you are?"

Let me tell you, the left had all it’s ducks in a row before they brought Obama into the starlight. It’s been going on for years.

What a deal! With Barry at the helm we receive all the benefits of living in Venezuela without having to move there.

Last month, the FL legislature overrode Charlie Crist’s veto of a bill that requires the legislature to approve all administrative rules and regulations that could exceed $1 million in societal costs over five years. The enviros and assorted Leftists burrowed into their regulatory holes are howling. Heh.

Article I Section 1 of the Constitution grants all federal legislative power to Congress. It is way past time for Congress to retrieve the power it illegally gave away to unelected, unaccountable bureaucrats. It can be done.

It's dead everywhere. before we kill all the lawyers we need to hang all the journalists. The slow way.

The media is O and the Saudi money behind him and the 6 American TV networks.

There is no illegal or unconstitutional for him. Keep watching TV because they ALL support him.

“As Soros has said....”Control the media then control the people”. The media is in their back pocket.”

This is what I have been saying all along. Saudi money is all over the 6 TV networks too. They own 90% of all the channels.

Soros knows Americans traded their liberty gladly for a TV clicker. Prince Al Waleed’s Fox is no better. Neither is his ABC or CNN or all the GE properties or Viacom/CBS which he has deals with or Bloomberg who is building the Victory Mosque for him. Saudi money and islam stole your country.

Definitely don’t hold your breath. Instead, be ready to apply the whip.

When my new congressman spoke at the last tea party event in the area he said “Don’t count on me to do the right thing. Make me do the right thing.”

People seem to think that their responsibility ends at the ballot box but apathy after voting is just as bad as not voting at all.

The MSM is Obama/Soros/Demacrat Party’s greatest weapon and they are utilizing it to the fullest right now.

MSM has already pressed the ignore button on the recent election and is burning up the air waves with Propaganda extolling the wonderful virtues of the crap laws the lame duck congress just enacted.

None of that is at all aligned with the voice of the people that screamed “cease and desist - NOW!”

The MSM is the greatest threat to our freedom, far greater than even Obama or his Regime.

I think we need to take advantage of this as much as possible.

When a conservative gets elected to the office and the media starts to attack them. All they have to say is "well obama did it, and you didn't mind it then".

When Hitler came to power in Germany, there were brave media persons who tried to warn the German populace. These dissenters were soon overwhelmed by Goebbel’s propaganda machine.

In the USA, the media can't rollover fast enough to be Obama’s propaganda tools. It's disgusting to watch these scum.
