The President of the United States took time out from his grueling party schedule to honor, not one of our brave troops, but a vicious animal abuser.
Obama called Eagles owner, Jeff Lurie, to passionately gush his admiration for Michael Vick who served prison time for his dog fighting ring. But, this is not some backwater ignoramus staging fights in his back yard. Vick was all that and so much more. He tortured and killed helpless dogs. He used puppies as pit bull fighting bait. He mutilated animals who refused to fight. He slaughtered these helpless creatures with his bare hands. The man is a monster.
Always courting the Democrat vote, Obama is concerned that the playing field isnt always level for convicted felons. Really? Is that Vicks biggest problem? Is he not yet making enough money by Obamas yardstick? How gracious of us all to give Vick his second chance.
Because the man plays football really well, we are to accept without question that he has been rehabilitated. Certainly, there is nothing like a couple of years in prison to bring out ones nurturing side.
The level of depravity shown by Vick is not amenable to redemption. Nobody abuses helpless animals with such violence and such clarity of purpose and then magically turns his life around. They do not install empathy and compassion in prison. Youve either got it or you dont.
Its appalling enough that Vick is playing pro football, but nobody seriously considers pro athletes to be good role models for kids anymore. But, for the leader of the free world to take the time to express admiration for this barbarian is reprehensible.

Just looking out for a brother!
he jus buyin brutha vo
Could someone explain why our post-racial president weighed in on this?
He had nothing to say when kids were being slaughtered in the streets of Iran.
We could start an entire thread on all of the urgent issues he ignores.
About this, he needs to weigh in.
C’mon, lighten up. It’s not like EVERY Serial Killer started out torturing animals.
It appears that a lot of rich NFL owners support the Baraqqi regime.
So Obama is just greasing the money conduits for 012.
The Steelers owner gave so much they made him an ambassador.
IMHO the president is acting stupidly
There are plenty who jumped right into killing humans. Those little overachievers!
Muslims hate dogs. Ergo dog fighting and killing is a GOOD thing to a Muslim.Vick would be much admired, perhaps even renamed the ‘Mosque Mauler’.
Is anyone really surprised when Hussein Obama acts like what he is?
I WAS a lifelong eagles fan, them playing only fifty some miles up the Atlantic City Expressway. Now, I could care less about them because of Vick, and more importantly the owner Laurie.
Vick is an animal of the worst kind. In my world you don’t screw with kids, old people, and animals....period. I wish I could have him alone for just 5 minutes with a choker chain around his neck.
Some of the stories I heard and read about Vick actually made me tear up and feel nauseous. To do what he did to defenseless animals is horrendous. And remember, that was a way of life for him and his buddies.....not a mistake or sudden lapse of morals.
I don’t care how good of a ball player he is,if he is lucky to survive his career without a broken neck (karma) he will certainly have to answer to God someday.
Laurie’s signing of Vick tells me money is the only thing important to him and his investors (surprise surprise),trumping even the most basic moral standards. So to hell with Laurie, Vick, and by association the Eagles organization. I am now a Giants fan.
Also more evidence of Dumbo’s utter cluelessness about America—we love our pets & will go all Mama Grizzly to protect them.
Michael Vick is the scum of the earth. Case closed.
PETA’s heads are exploding.
Peta has their little scam going, and that’s O.K. I guess. Free country and all that. And I would feel a lot more sympathetic to the animal lovers who curse Vick for abusing some dogs; IF they showed HALF as much concern for unborn babies being destroyed by the MILLIONS and not a mumbling word said in protest. Just seems to lack any concept of PROPORTION to me.
Thought I heard announcers talking about him during the NYG game on his changing. Sounded like MSM propaganda. Going to hear this crap in the playoffs, again.
Nope. Newkirk weighed in supporting BO’s crap about 2d chances.
That sob will do anything for a ‘bro- no matter how despicable.
I heard someone from PETA on FOX this afternoon disparaging Vick. She wasn’t into second chances at all.
“Obama’s a sports guy, Vick’s a sports guy, and comebacks and redemption can happen,’ said Ingrid E. Newkirk, the group’s co-founder and president. ‘We all want a president who can lift us up and move us forwards when ugly things happen, but that cannot let us forget and remain watchful to avoid future abuses.”
Not surprised at all. I imagine Newkirk’s response would have been vastly different had Bush called Vick.
The lady on FOX must not have gotten the message from on high.
Great PEBO. Let’s make the dog-killing felon a hero. Now we get to endlessly hear about Vick’s struggle from the MSM. What about the NFL player that didn’t break the law, went to school and improved his life. How about making him a role model? This is very telling of an inexperienced, immature, person that was mistakingly put in a position of power for the wrong reason, by a media that is out of touch with reality.
I agree. I think part of the reason for such a disparity of concern is that people aren't allowed to show the horrors of abortion. The government uses the RICO law (Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations) against those who protest at abortion clinics. (How ironic is that when the corrupt organizations are the clinics!) If more people were able to witness the carnage, there would be less of it, IMO.
Michael Vick's killing of dogs was widely publicized; the same cannot be said for the killing of humans in the womb. It's a "protected" right to murder, doncha know.
