Freep a Poll! (was Gov. Rendell of Penn. right to call us a nation of wussies?)

Was Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell right to call us a nation of "wussies" after the Eagles-Vikings game was postponed because of the snowstorm?

No, Rendell is a public official and should've been more concerned with safety

Ignore him. Rendell's being a typically ornery Eagles fan.

Rendell's comments were a larger statement about the world, and U.S. willingness to fight to keep our supremacy

If the roads and public transportation were as clear as he said, there was no reason for the game to be held

Yes. Seriously, when did the big, bad NFL start worrying about weather conditions?

"Have at it!"

Not worth it.

Once the city emergency was called at 3 pm, the game was off/over. Lawsuits would have been flying.

Rendell is going away, let it at that.

Who cares.

Watching a bunch of overgrown, overpaid, steroid-saturated men chase a ball around a field was never my idea of a good way to spend time.

I understand that others will disagree, but, again, who cares.

I credit the wussification of the American male to Phil Donohue and his “touchy feelie” rhetoric, and the ultimate wuss, Alan Alda and his whiney roles. Give us John Wayne and Lee Marvin. PLEASE!

I voted that he was being a dopey Eagles fan. When the hell did we start agreeing the US is full of wusses from one of the biggest nanny state Rat Libs of all time next to Obama. Rendell is a professional and personal POS. Can’t wait till he disappears.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. Eric "The Chinless Wonder" Holder claimed America is a nation of cowards.

I might agree with Fast Eddie Rendell if he had limited his "wussies" opinion to NFL Commish Goodell's impact on the game, especially meddling with officiating, rather than extending it to the country as a whole. I fondly remember games played in the snow.

He was right. I have never heard of lawsuits from playing NFL games in blizzard conditions.

Whatta bunch of pantywaists.

Never would have happened in Green Bay.

Isn't being a "Nation of Wussies" the whole point of the progressive agenda?

The stopped clock being right twice a day is clearly in place here.

Rendell is right on the money. Unfortunately, its his party that got us here.

Good question.

I don’t really know. I’m not bored.

Maybe I just wanted to stir things up.

Not playing that night may have saved lives. We will never know. Now go back and watch the game.

He was right. I have never heard of lawsuits from playing NFL games in blizzard conditions.

The lawsuits would have come from the thousands of fans stranded or wrecked trying to get to or from a game that was played in blizzard conditions, not the game itself.

And the precedent for this is...?

How many people got wrecked, stranded, raped, maimed, etc. on the way to the famous Blizzard Bowl? Or about 70% of all games played in Green Bay in Winter and 40% or so of all games in Pittsburgh?

Even then, what would the legal theory be? Attractive Nuisance?

No, we have become a nation of girlie-men.

He was right, but not for the reasons he gave - by the way, Rendel was on the Kudlow Report tonight and said once he’s out of office he intends to become a “capitalist” and make a lot of money - IMO his outburst was a calculated PR move to put some distance between his ‘rat background with the nanny state, as Kudlow called it, and his future career, and how better to start than to come out showing deep concern for his country and the path it’s taking........
