Huntsman and Pence for President? You've got to be Kidding Me
Pundit Press ^ | 1/4/11 | Timothy Knight

Could the serious 2012 contenders please stand?

Some folks in the media are actually suggesting Jon Huntsman for the 2012 Republican nomination, while RedState, one of the most influential political blogs on the internet, practically endorsed Mike Pence yesterday afternoon. The only thing left is for Senator Olympia Snowe to run for the Presidency. I couldn't imagine another unrealistic candidacy at this time, nor do I want to.

I am not anti-dark horse candidates (I supported Sarah Palin for the 2008 GOP Vice-Presidential nomination in July '08), but I am for realistic candidates being touted...

However, candidates to the left of Joe Manchin (Huntsman), or too determined for another office (Pence) are not prime contenders for the 2012 Republican nomination. Neither will run, unless forced by eager supporters, and neither have a realistic path towards victory. Huntsman is entangled with Obama and Pence is entangled with history. Could we please focus our attention on those actually willing to run and to win.

I saw Huntsman on some interview show saying he’d give Obama “high marks” for his recent economic performance.

No wonder they like him.

It is looking more as if Pence will be running for governor. However, I very much like him and I am strongly conservative.

Why do you want to dig the hole deeper for Republicans?

Considering we gave them McCain the last time, it’s understandable that they’d set their sights on liberal AND unelectable once again.

Huntsman is 0bama’s ambassador to somewhere, isn’t he? If he’s so tightly linked with this regime, IMO he shouldn’t even be given a look.

"Sarah Palin" will either be checked or handwritten on my ballot. I will accept no substitutes. After reading her second book, I am convinced that she alone, among the possible group of electable potential candidates, has the fortitude to do what needs to be done.

"Faux moderates" like Huntsman Jr. need not apply.

Congressmen don't win presidential elections unless they become governors or senators first.

The left really are talking up this Huntsman character.

I heard Beckel mention his name the other night on Hannity. He said that Huntsman was the “most feared” republican candidate for the dems. Typical technique of them wanting to choose the R nominee.

therightliveswithus:
"We needs conservatives who are going to focus on defeating Obama! "

Exactly.
Given that Huntsman WORKS with Obama
and that Gov. Palin speaks up against Obama each week,
that would be Gov. Palin for POTUS 2012.

So glad that you agree.

This full bore desperation by the Establishment and its pipe organ, the lamestream media to find an alternative, ANY alternative to Palin tells me that, in their minds at least, she has all but sewn up the GOP nomination and is on the cusp of ejecting their hero from the White House and completing the revolution that Reagan began but never finished.

This feverish pursuit even of low profile Congressmen and Democrat ambassadors is nothing more than the death rattle of the Establishment, first in the GOP and then in D.C. proper.

Not since Andrew Jackson arrived in 1828 has there been a shakeup in Washington the likes of which it is facing in two short years.

Steve Barry Dunham Hussein Soetoro Mohammed Obama is the name on the certificate that he will have to produce in states to show he is a serious candidate.

>> “Sarah Palin” will either be checked or handwritten on my ballot. I will accept no substitutes.

That’s exactly where I’m at. If a better candidate was to surface, I’d consider changing my mind — but I can’t imagine who that would be (and all things considered it’s NOT Pence, NOT Duncan Hunter, NOT Pawlenty, NOT Huntsman, NOT Newt, NOT Haley Barbour, and DAMN SURE NOT Romney or Huckabee).

I held my nose and voted for that puke McCain, pretty much only because he picked Sarah Palin as his VP.

I’m not doing that again though. If the mainstream media gives us another puke candidate I am NOT pulling the lever for them.

THE LINCOLNESQUE MIKE PENCE

Cong. Mike Pence speech at Hillsdale College: "The Presidency and the Constitution"
EXCERPT---The American Spectator | 9/20/10 FR Posted by hillsdale1

"The President of the United States of America bows to no man. You do not bow to kings. When in foreign lands, you do not criticize your own country. You do not argue the case against the United States, but, rather, the case for it. You do not apologize to the enemies of the United States. Should you be confused, know that a country, people, or region that harbors, shelters, supports, encourages, or cheers attacks upon our country, the slaughter of our children, our mothers, our fathers, our sisters, and brothers… are enemies of the United States.
