Juan Williams Rips NPR
Tammy Bruce.com ^ | January 5, 2011

The Left will probably consider Juan Williams’ remarks today on Fox as evidence that he does need a psychiatrist. He was asked about the resignation of Ellen Weiss, the NPR executive who fired Williams over voicing his concerns seeing Muslims on airplanes. It [NPR] has become very ingrown if not incestuous in terms of their perspective. She had executioner’s knife for anybody who didn’t abide by her way of thinking.

I think she represented an ingrown culture in that institution that’s not open to not only different ways of thinking, but angry at the fact that I would even talk or be on Fox, angry at the fact that people have different perspectives and a conservative perspective might emerge on Fox or NPR. To my mind this is good news for NPR and people who care about news in America.

I’m telling you is they have a culture there that is not open to real news. It’s not open to all points of view. It’s not open to the real world around it and the many different dynamics and perspectives and stories that animate the news in America.

If they want to be Pravda, if they want to be issue propaganda…fine. I think everybody knows the real story here. The real story is you can’t go around treating people like trash and pretending that anybody who has a different point of view is illegitimate.

I don’t like Juan Williams’ views on a lot of issues, but I always thought he was an honest liberal who loves his country. Which is something of a rarity....

NPR is trying to get out in front of a defunding move in the house...this is their attempt to say we have self policed, nothing more.

As long as my tax dollars are involved, it's not fine.  They can be Pravda in the private sector.

He’s still a leftist but they crossed him so he’s speaking out... and what he’s saying is the truth.

I will not be satisfied until the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and NPR are completely defunded from our TAX dollars!

There is no justification for them to get our money.

Yes, I agree. I think he is a decent man, although I disagree with him on many things. But he is principled and consistent, and when he differs with the liberal party line, he says so. Even if you disagree with someone, you don’t like to see them be treated the way NPR treated him. People with whom I disagree on political issues aren’t necessarily my enemies.

She’ll probably make more as a consultant to NPR.

I’d oppose tax payer funding for NPR even if it broadcast my point of view 24 hours a day.

“People with whom I disagree on political issues aren’t necessarily my enemies.”

Then who is? Some communist trying to take my earnings, my life, is not a friend. Way to stand up for yourself.

NPR is for losers.

Anyone that has to put sound tracks behind their audio reports in order to sound realistic shows their complete lack of talent.

It’s the liberal equivalent of a laugh track...which they don’t need, ‘cuz I laugh at them without the track.

Some of the programming like Nova, etc. wouldn't exist without PBS. They do, however, need to be completely devoid of any and all "reporting" of any and all "News". That is totally political and totally unnecessary.

They should show and broadcast nothing but art and science and classical music that wouldn't appear or be heard otherwise.

If they can't be depoliticized by killing their "news" departments, then defund them in toto.

I certainly hope that most of NPR’s donors also watch fox News.
