I Went to Tucson… (and all I got was this lousy tee shirt)

...Yes, yes, The Speech was fine. Full of rainbows and unicorns and signifying nothing. But did the whole thing have to be turned into a campagin rally? Were the names of the victims listed on the back, like a rock band’s tour schedule? Faugh! This is appalling.

Do you remember anything like this happening at the memorial for the victims of the Virginia Tech shooting? Nope. Columbine? The Amish West Nickel Mines School shooting? Nope.

Sure wish my great grandmother had grabbed one of these when she went to Gettysburg...

The following quote is from a story in the Tucson Sentinel that appeared on January 9, 2011. The story is at http://www.tucsonsentinel.com/local/report/010911_giffords_condition

“Giffords is in a drug-induced coma in intensive care. Doctors frequently awaken her to check her responsiveness, and she could open her eyes and respond to simple commands Sunday - an encouraging sign, said Rhee said.”

This proves that Obama’s claims that she opened her eyes for the first time immediately following a visit from Obama ARE A BLATANT LIE DESIGNED TO MAKE OBAMA LOOK GOOD and the media , including Fox, are complicit in parroting this outright lie.

This story has been permanently archived at http://www.webcitation.org/5vjOlOtyb in case it “disappears”.

I’m pretty sure the names of the victims were NOT on the backs... you can see from photos that the backs look blank. I was making an exaggerated point by asking the question.

Shameless, that POTUS Obama is!!! He has no religion, no caring, no understanding, no class, no brains, no dignity, no street smarts, nothing. Just a cold hearted, calculating, no morals Democrat Politician. Wise up Americans and broom this dude under the rug come the election of November, 2012.

I’m giving the President the HUGE benefit of the doubt here when I suggest that maybe it was mentioned to him that Rep. Giffords opened her eyes after he left, and he (or possibly a speechwriter) took that and ran with it.

Or he may just be a lying crapweasel.

Even if we give him that benefit of the doubt, it was still Obama who made the speech and wanted his followers to believe that she opened her eyes because of his presence.

From the clips I saw, the problem was that Obama didn't use a somber tone, he turned it into a campaign rally with his tone of voice. That, plus he couldn't resist the blame game.

He’d lie even if the truth sounded better.

Well, I give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I’d be thrilled and excited if I heard someone in Giffords condition had opened her eye and I would want to tell everyone. It’s always exciting when you see someone with that kind of injury come back so fast and so well.

No, because I am sure that these T-shirts were in the closet of an ACORN office ready for the next 'voter registration' drive.

True, but at the time, he may have believed it himself... And really, why wouldn’t he believe it? He’s the one who believed he could “slow the rise of the oceans, begin to heal the planet, provide care for the sick, and good jobs to the jobless, end a war, secure our nation, and restore our image as the last, best hope on earth.” Gack.

I watched a part of the circus, and believe me, it was in pep-rally mode long before the President stood up to speak.

That said, it surely didn’t elevate the atmosphere of the gathering to have had a logo designed and slapped on tee shirts for all the cheerleaders, excuse me, the mourners, so that the whole event could be branded as the first campaign rally of 2012.

Did this whole thing have to be turned into a campaign rally? Of course. The kenyan doesn’t go anywhere unless it is an obama friendly venue. Why was a “memorial” held at a college campus anyway? When you add in the t shirts, ok then this was a campaign stop to showcase his wonderfullness. Don’t forget his handlers pulled off a huge con on this country by getting an inexperienced marxist thug on the ballot and then in the white house. They still have all his life records buttoned up and continue to present him as the greatest president ever. obama mentioned the opening of the eyes 4 times as a subtle message of his healing powers.
This whole thing was hijacked by the obama team to shore up his credibility after the thrashing his party took in November. And they used this opportunity to take another crack at Sarah Palin. (deep down she really scares them)Really sick that they will use an incident like this to prop up obama.

Obama is thinking ahead--wants to get his first miracle so he can be beatified. Maybe they will waive the requirement that you have to be dead first in his case, him being so special and everything.

I remember reading about someone who had an audience with Pope Pius XII and admitted he had always had a secret wish to be canonized by the pope. The pope told him, "You have to be dead to be canonized. But if you want to pretend to be dead, I can pretend to canonize you."

Read that somewhere--not from an unimpeachable, let alone infallible, source.

What really frustrating is that the obama team used this for their own benefit. And there are way too many people in this country that assume that just because he has the word president in front of him that he will act presidential. Obama is a community organizer. Nothing more. All he and his team know to do is self promote and destroy their political enemies. I just read an article in the American spectator that spewed a bunch of garbage that Obama hit the bullseye in his speech and was actually presidential. What a pant load. This shooting gave them the opportunity to try to portray obama as the national healer, trash Arizona, go after the first and second ammendment and blame Palin all in one fell swoop. And they pulled it all off with souvenier t shirts to top it all off.

A better investigator that I would find out where these t-shirts came from, and whose closet they’d been in. They were too generic to have printed (super-quickly) in time for the “rally”.

Exactly.

Then, there’s the whole packaging, delivery and logistics of distribution involved.

Who put these on the chairs? How was all that work divided up? Were those people paid? By whom?

At a guess, once the President injected himself into a city's grieving process, the whole "solemn memorial" concept (a la Virginia Tech) went out the window, and in came Obama 2012 Campaign.

I'd also guess that once that happened, things were neatly taken out of the hands of the locals and turned over to, ah, community organizers and the like, to instill the proper rah-rah spirit, with tee shirts and all. Plus, I'm sure the Secret Service had a few suggestions on staging and such.

At that point, someone probably decided that it was too passe to have actual clergy onstage to read scripture--you know, religious leaders from the faiths of those who were murdered? Instead, they decided that it would be just the thing to have a Native American blessing; Bible reading by Eric Holder (I mean, really: Eric Holder?); and a vague, nebulous, touch-feely poem which means exactly nothing. When you get right down to it, it was an absolutely perfect example of a Progressive memorial service.

The idea of any actual solemn memorial service for the real victims was screwed the instant Obama said, "I'm so there!"

Piece of cake, really. That’s what Community Organizers do best!

Uh oh! Somebody did, and it seems that at least the slogan (if not the actual tee shirts) has been recycled from Obama's 2008 campaign. They should have tried to cover it up a bit more thoroughly...
