California taxpayers pay record amount in benefits to children of illegal aliens

Los Angeles Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich has just released data from the Department of Public Social Services which shows that in November 2010, $53 million in welfare benefits ($22 million CalWORKs and $31 million in Food Stamps) were given issued to illegal aliens for their U.S.-born children in Los Angeles County.

The record amount is an increase of almost $3 million from November 2009, and represents 22 percent of all CalWORKs and Food Stamp issuances in L.A. county.

In 2009, CalWORKs and Food Stamp benefits given to illegal aliens totaled almost $570 million. The total amount issued to illegal aliens cost in 2010, is estimated to be well over $600 million.

On Monday, Supervisor Antonovich told reporters: “When you add this to $550 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to county taxpayers exceeds $1.6 billion dollars a year -- not including the hundreds of millions of dollars for education.”

In August 2009, Antonovich made public the-then staggering amount which the taxpayers spent on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. In June 2009 alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007.

I guess as long as CA keeps giving them goodies, the illegals will stay out of my state. But it would be so much better for all of us if all states would band together to fight illegal immigration.

These idiots will continue to blame those evil “rich capitalists” and Republicans for “spending all the money on luxury condos and wars.”

Californian leftists are far too stupid to ever figure it out.

Meanwhile, CA children get cuts in services and the CA state government has hundreds of political-payoff agencies. Graft and Corruption is never investigated within the State government and state workers are immune to being fired for not working!

No sweat. We'll be able to better afford them as soon as Jerry Brown gets half of those state-owned cell phones back.

And his dozen or so planned new taxes are implemented.

Simple solution; Any payments to anybody for adolescents must be to parents or legal gardians who are in the country legally.

Fat chance. The state GOP recently declared that the party's salvation will be found in the hispanic community. Unfortunately we know what that means.

If I were a hispanic citizen a) I'd be far more offended than flattered b) I wouldn't be interested in joining a party with so few collective IQ points.

Add to that the CASH (often more than SS) that Calif gives to elderly illegal aliens and you can see why the state is such a mess! And No, that’s one program no one seems willing to cut.

[snip] Wonder why California is broke??? Senior Illegal aliens!

Yes, there are plenty of reasons, and here is just one! California gives over and above what the feds give to Illegal Aliens. Yesterday I was at my doctor’s office and picked up a booklet funded ‘with a generous grant from the Calif. Bar Foundation’, titled, “Seniors & the Law” A Guide for Maturing Californians. They pointed out many programs, such as property tax deferment for seniors in financial trouble, that have been eliminated because of budget cuts...but they didn’t cut this one!

Highlights:
“California’s cash Assistance Program is for Seniors.... turned down because of their immigration status....such seniors may be able to get almost the same amount of cash as they would have through SSI”

“That’s why they keep coming here, free money”

That is also why I personally believe we may not get out of this economic hole unless something is done with the illegals. Social security, HUD, food stamps, medicaid, the cost to schools, hospitals etc... all add up to a lot of money being sucked out. IMHO the U.S. can be compared to a “host” with parasites. The host will never be strong as long as the parasites are sucking the life out of it. Just a thought.

They did not add 15k per child of theirs in the school system.
California is also giving away free babysitting so they can go make more babies at $600 per month.

I estimate the cost (not counting the taxes never paid from the gray markets) is closer to 9+ billion a year easily.

I just heard on Fox Business, that the state of California owes $341,000,000 for the interest on the borrowed money for unemployment for 1 quarter. The best part is, this is for the first 26 weeks, NOT for the extension to 99, or the newer extension......... isn’t that special..........

Don’t forget Calif is still intent on passing their own Dream Act .A bill that would give students who are in the country illegally the opportunity to access college financial aid was introduced in the state Legislature this week, according to news reports.
The California Dream Act, AB 130, would allow students who are in the country illegally to benefit from the same financial aid as other students in the state who attend public universities and colleges, according to a San Jose Mercury News story.
This bill is different than an earlier failed federal bill, which would have given some students in the country illegally a pathway to legal residency and eventually U.S. citizenship.
Supporters of the state bill said it will help students gain an education and eventually contribute to the workforce. Opponents say the already-strained state can’t afford to help those who are in the country illegally.http://www.ocregister.com/news/students-284101-bill-illegally.html?nstrack=sid:980889|met:102|cat:227|order:2

No problem. Los Angeles has plenty of money and is a sanctuary city. If they were broke the politicians wouldn’t be able to build 1/2 billion dollar schools, would they? Don’t worry...they’re on top of things. /s

Well DUH!

You folks ready to bail CA out yet? We wouldn't want them to have to cut these benefits to illegals.
