Race Card: Schultz Claims Republicans Have 'Pre-Civil Rights Attitude' On ObamaCare
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/19/2011 4:38:06 PM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

If Barack Obama is going to win re-election, he's going to have to count on massive, overwhelming, support from his base. And what better way to gin up that base than by accusing Republicans of Jim Crow racism?

Rush Limbaugh played an amazing montage today of a series of Dems using the "discrimination" talking point in describing Republican opposition to ObamaCare. Ed Schultz took the notion a giant step further on his MSNBC show this evening, flatly claiming that GOP opposition amounts to a "pre-civil rights attitude." Got that, base? Opposing ObamaCare = George Wallace at the schoolhouse door. Welcome to the new era of civility!

It’s exactly this that will assure BO will be a one-termer. People are sick to death of being called racists. No “black” democrat president-no charges of racism by idiots like Mr. Ed.

I hope that Comcast pulls the plug on Special Ed, Chrissy, Olberdork and Madcow. They are not political pundits, they are flaming Marxists.

Wasn't Wallace a Democrat?

Mark, you are my hero. I am mentally unable to listen to or deal with stupidity. I just can’t do it.

Hey Eddie, there is not one thing in this law that has one thing to do with “civil rights”. The only rights being violated are my freedom to choose not to be involved in a massive vote-buying boondoggle to those too lazy to buy themselves health insurance instead of the latest technological gadget.

Oh you mean like Lincoln (R) fighting to free them in the civil war, or Ike (R)sending fed troops to Selma AL so a little girl could go to school over Geo. Wallace’s (D) opposition, or Republicans introducing the Voting Rights act under St. Kennedy and getting it passed over “Sheets” Byrd’s (D)Strong objection and filibuster in the Senate under “I Propose” LBJ (D).

You’re an idiot Schultz!

Comcast merger approved.

Gather up your belongings and follow the Security Personnel to the back door.

Funny how they “forget” which party it was that first opposed integration and started the KKK.

One cannot claim a right to medical care unless one can find a legal and constitutional method of forcing doctors, nurses, hospital staff and drug companies to work whether they want to or not.

Schultz is so stupid, he thinks that rewording what he’s been sent from Axelgreasy to say on air will fool people into believing he is actually thinking for himself. Where would the commie bastard and his minions be without the dead-soul dullards like Schultz and Matthews?

Hey Schultz (a.k.a. dumba$$), if memory (and history) serves me correctly, if it weren’t for the Republicans, there wouldn’t have been any civil rights legislation passed...

They're just trying to mau-mau the squishy Republicans, who would do anything to not be thought of as racist.

This is the most honest statement that can be made about most of the libs! Not just that, they are like the GreenPeacNik people: NOT IN MY BACKYARD! I am not kidding! They are more than happy to send money to the problem, but they dang sure don't want to offer them a home/job or anything that would require the problem to come to the "lib" side of town! It is really sad!!!

Ed Shultz is a revisionist. He doesn’t know jack about civil rights and the racist role that the left has played in racism. Lie, lies and more lies. The left serves the father of lies.
