Because of Harry Reid, Tom Udall, and other Senate Democrats attempting to destroy the Senate's filibuster, not one piece of legislation has been debated or voted upon in the 112th United States Congress. The House has cut millions of dollars from their budget, has repealed two pieces of unpopular legislation and has agreed to reduce discretionary spending to 2008 levels.
The Senate?
They failed to destroy the Minority's right to block legislation proposed by the Majority, which the Democrat Party will need in two years. Obviously, the will of the voters is considered as just another obstacle to real leftwing change, and apparently the main foundation of our Republic is just not democracy friendly for the Democratic Party of the 21st century.

Better yet, tell them to go home for the next 2 years. At least they wouldn’t be up to any more mischief and wouldn’t be spending any more taxpayer money. Ronald Wilson Obama is moving to the political center right?
Now if only the information about how these people behave actually REACHED the people, they would be out of office.
The Senate is a good ole boys club that is unanswerable to the people.
This will only change when the 17th Amendment is repealed, which will allow once again Senators to be selected by each state legislature rather than by vote.
Reverting to that will allow a greater amount of accountability to the state and its citizens as recall can be made in short order compared with the current system that requires the Senate body to throw out members.

You say that like it’s a BAD thing.
The Senate is a good ole boys club that is unanswerable to the people.
Not for long.
We used to have a lot more of the good ole boys clubs in Louisiana but things have turned around dramatically and continue to do so - well, maybe New Orleans will take a little longer.
Term limits for the Senate of two terms, four terms for the House might keep our “Representatives” humble and more responsive to the wihses of the people.

Yeah, You’re right. Mary Landrieu means more than boys are in the club.
Sure wish bobby jindal runs against her after he continues cleaning house in BR.
Yep. We need him cloned in Louisiana. Bobby Jindal would be one of the few who could slam dunk Landrieu. Every election she campaigns so middle and so low down she skims by. We almost has her out twice maybe the 3rd time is a charm especially since the health care incident. We can only hope and vote.
