Bristol Palin says she would 'probably' run for public office in the future

In a move certain to cause liberal heads to explode nationwide, Bristol Palin told E! Online’s Giuliana Rancic she would "probably" run for public office one day, "but that would be further down the road."

"If I saw something that needed to be changed, then I would step up to the plate and do something about it," she said.

The former Dancing with the Stars contestant knows the reaction she would get from those who hate her. To say liberals hate her is a bit like saying the sun is a little bit warm. One is hard pressed to find any other family who has been the target of more unhinged, irrational, hatred.

Her performance enraged 67-year-old Steven Cowan so much he blasted his television with a shotgun. Apparently, "Palin Derangement Syndrome" knows no age limits.

The younger Palin has been attacked by MSNBC hosts, so-called comediennes, and was the recipient of a white powdery substance given the appearance of a death threat.

Her appearance on Dancing with the Stars caused some to file complaints with the Federal Communications Commission.

To her credit, Palin has stood firm against the mindless - and frankly, stupid - attacks against her.

She knows how some will react if she ever decides to run for office:

"I feel like for every one or two haters out there, there are 20 more people that support us," she explained of her family's propensity to serve as lightning rods. "So, it doesn't really affect me when people say negative things about me or my family, but I just really hope that nobody else has to go through that.

You have to admit the girl has guts. Maybe she can get some real-world experience and an education and make a go of it.

Why do that? The Cult of Personality is probably enough.

It’s Piper Palin I’m looking to support in a couple decades.

Bristol Palin, Megan Mc Cain, Ron Reagan and it goes on. The only claim to fame is their relationship to a famous politician and somehow they get a megaphone to show what spoiled jerks they are.

Is this helping her mother’s candidacy?

At first, I thought no thanks, but listening to her speak she actually said that would be much further down the road.

This girl is smart. She knows she needs to complete her education, gain experience and then look at public service.

That right there is an improvement over Meggy Mac, a Kennedy or Bush. Bristol never said sure, why not, sounds fun, its expected of me, it runs in my family etc....

Bristol named the right reason, if she saw something that needed to be changed, she would step up to the plate. That is true public service for the right reason and a very good start.

Keep progressing Bristol, I am very impressed with the growth you have had so far. I look forward to your continued maturity and growth.

At the risk of sounding uncharitable on the subject of Bristol’s comment...

Go, Piper! She's got Sarah's spunk. We had her pegged during the campaign to follow in her mama's footsteps. That kid has that special something that hopefully she'll use to do good one day. Bristol doesn't have it and frankly needs to concentrate on maturing a whole lot more.

I don’t like political dynasties, I don’t care whose they are. No more Bushes, Clintons, Kennedys, etc.
