Director of National Intelligence Clapper Comes A-Cropper of His Own Ignorance
Pajamas Media ^ | February 10, 2011 | Brian Fairchild

James Clapper told a congressional committee that the Muslim Brotherhood is 'largely secular" and has "eschewed violence." (Also read Michael Ledeen's "Claptrap from Clapper" and Ron Radosh's "James Clapper's Stunning Assessment: We Must Demand He Be Fired" at the Tatler.)

Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, testifying before the House Intelligence Committee today, stated that the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt is a largely secular, non-violent umbrella group.

I have quickly put together the quotes below from the Brotherhood’s former and current leaders. They clearly show that the Muslim Brotherhood is extremely religious and violent, and that former Supreme Guide Muhammad Mahdi Akef even supports Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda.

Mr. Clapper’s congressional testimony reveals that he simply doesn’t know what he is talking about regarding one of the most important topics for American policy considerations throughout the Muslim world, and particularly and immediately in Egypt.

The fact that the director of national intelligence is so ignorant of facts that are so easily amassed, and that he could lead U.S. policymakers so far astray from reality at such a crucial time, is inexcusable and grounds for his immediate resignation.

The following public comments were made by Muhammad Mahdi Akef, the supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, from 2004-2010. These statements well document Akef’s Salafi-jihadist orientation, anti-Americanism, and support of Osama bin Laden and a-Qaeda. They reveal that he and his Brothers are more than willing to resort to violence, including violence against the United States, to defend their Islamist ideals.

“This applies to any country under occupation.  One of the principles of the Muslim Brotherhood is to rid the Arab and Islamic nation of any foreign rule.  The Muslim Brotherhood must support all the forces of resistance in the Arab and Islamic world.”

Muhammad Badi, the new supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood who took over the organization from Akef in January 2010, has said the following:

Brian Fairchild served as a career Operations Officer in the Central Intelligence Agency's Clandestine Service with twenty years of experience operating under official and non-official cover. In 1998, he testified before Congress on counterterrorism issues, and he is currently the Director of Intelligence Operations for the Intrepid Group. Since 9/11, he has taught over ten thousand law enforcement officers, intelligence officials, and military personnel about the Muslim Brotherhood and the global Jihad movement. The Intrepid Group provides video tutorials on these subjects on its website and YouTube channel.

For DNI Clapper to seemingly be so uniformed about the Muslim Brotherhood is truly appalling.

Whether he is ignorant or a malignant liar is unclear. What is clear is that he’s exactly the kind of person Obama wants in that position. Which is why he appointed him.

There’s no doubt that’s why he’s there, he’s a parrot.

Any wonder Obama is surprised this afternoon with talent like this advising him?

Did you all see the posting the other day about an administration briefing book on Egypt that erroneously said Mubarak is a Coptic Christian?

They are completely in the dark over there.

Well said. I believe it may have something to do with intelligent patriots wanting nothing to do with him but it jeopardizes the security of our country.

This administration, from Obama, to Napolitano, to Clapper is, to put it mildly, grossly incompetent. The Carter Administration, by comparison, was the epitome of professionalism, compared to these Keystone Cops.

LOL! That is a classic and this title does:)

I doubt Clapper has the intelligence of either Carson or Webb though.

:’) Thanks Robert A. Cook, PE. Obama and all his appointees should be required to dress like cartoon characters, with the addition of “Kick Me” signs on the back.

You’ll have to excuse DNI Clapper, he get’s confused easily. What was it a month ago, he was chatting with Diane Sawyer and was asked about the arrest of the islamists in London and he gave the “deer in headlight” look. Well, yesterday he got confused again, he heard Islamic Brotherhood and he was really describing the Islamic Motherhood. Jeesh, where did Obama find this baffoon?

It sure does seem Clapper’s living in another world. Zer0 seems to have little trouble finding baffoon’s, he’s more less surrounded himself with them.
