Layla. My all time most favorite song.

The piano riff is the best ever in all of history.

Thanks for positing this thread.

Didn’t Clapton do a stupid song that was an ode to cocaine?

Having Duane Allman play on most of the album was a stroke of genius.

One of the very few 70’s albums that has aged well.

( Who’s Next is another one)

Layla... and Exile... are two testaments to the unfortunate truth that rock musicians record their greatest work while strung out on heroin.

While you were posting this, I was writing #9. GMTA.

Once Brian Jones died all the songs were rubbish. The Stones repeated themselves for about 30 + years.

J.J. Cale. Versions sound almost identical.

The Stones are just about my favorite group, but you’re basically right. Start Me Up is about the only song I really like from 1970 to the present.

Personally, I liked Clapton’s version of Little Wing better than Hendrix.

Wonder if Clapton is friends with Patti these days? Wonder if Patti and Jane Asher are still friends.

Maybe Paul should consider dating Jane again, she’s a much nicer girl than the last one.
