Did anyone see a green meteor in NC sky tonight?

Around 10:30 PM tonight my son and I saw a bright green streak that appeared to be heading South to North toward Charlotte, NC. The light appeared to be going very fast, and accelerating on a downward path in the sky.

I haven't heard anything on the local news about it.

I saw one in Guantanamo Bay in the 60’s. It was a red fireball.

Also saw one in Columbia SC. It was a very foggy night, and you could barely see to drive. This one went south to north also, and lit the night up like daylight. There were reports that it was seen from South America up through South Carolina.

It looks like cause that’s the date they all saw the green ball of light thing.

I recall the weather being too cold for November, but it must’ve been the Leonids. I don’t really know, but it was spectacular enough that I’m surprised there isn’t more available via web search.

Do you mean from 10 years ago?

One of the most spectacular astronomical events I witnessed was when Hale-Bopp was in the sky.

In March of 1997 I saw a near total lunar eclipse on one side of the sky with the Hale-Bopp comet on the other. In Idaho there isn’t that much light pollution so the show was simply fantastic.

Thanks bigheadfred. Not very catastrophic, and I should have a green flames version for stuff like this (which is lately more commonplace), but I'm pinging it anyway. :')
