Canadian Death Panel Decides Baby Should Die, Canadian Court Agrees
All American Blogger ^ | 2=18-11 | Duane Lester

How many liberals have clamored for the humanity of the Canadian Health Care system? I think it's safe to say that at one time, a majority of the have advocated for a single payer system.

One of the problems with single payer is the government can decide to stop paying because some "death panel" declared the patient's life not worth the money required to keep them alive.

For example, a panel in Canada's health care system has decided to remove a baby from life support, despite the parents protestations. The parents when to court. The court found in favor of the government.

So now, rather than die at home, with loved ones surrounding him, baby Joseph Maraachli will die at the hospital, at the hands of the Canadian health care system:

The father and relatives of one-year-old Joseph Maraachli wept outside a London courthouse after an emotional Justice Helen Rady upheld the earlier decision of an independent provincial tribunal forcing the baby's parents to comply with doctors' orders.

With all of their legal avenues exhausted, the family will have to say goodbye to Joseph Monday morning — on Family Day — when his breathing tube will be removed.

"I do my best for my baby. My son is not a criminal . . . to just let him die," dad Moe Maraachli said through tears.

"They are taking my baby away from me . . . Where is the humanity?"

But the point is, if you support what the democrat party officially supports, then you're defying God's commandments.

They could call it the 'lolwut' party and if it supported what the democrats support, then its spitting on Christ. Its not the party, its what the people in the party support.

1-Obtain the necessary breathing aids.
2-Walk into the hospital and remove the baby to have him treated in a place they value life.

Couldn’t the parents still treat him if they could find funding? I mean, they are not condemning him to death, just deciding not to have the government pay? Surely there is some charity that could help this child?

You have a good point - yes, the parents could pay for the tracheostomy so they can have him die at home instead of in the hospital. (The parents accept the fact that he will definitely die soon as he has a progressive neurologic disease - the same as a sister died from.)

I have sympathy for both views on this, but as a medical person, it comes down (for a state health system, OR for a US insurance company) to

1. Is it a reasonable cost (either to a national health service or an insurance company) to pay for a tracheostomy, home ventilator, and supplies? Who bears the cost of round the clock trache care, or is the family on their own for the care or for home nursing costs?

2. The family say they want Joseph to die in the comfort of their home. Does putting him through a trachostomy procedure add or detract comfort from his last days? Is the pain of the procedure and the post op period worth being in a private residence when one dies, especially if the child can't sense where he is? According to this article he can't - he's in a persistent vegetative state, and "missing all five brain stem reflexes considered necessary for life -- gag, cough, eye movement, pupil and cornea responses." At that point, it seems to me it is no longer about the health or comfort of the child, but rather about the wishes of the parents.

One pediatric intensivist discussing this case had a suggestion - instruct the parents so they can take the child home with the endotracheal tube in place and they can use an ambubag to keep him breathing for the transfer. When they are home and ready, they can cease bagging or remove the tube.

Did you not know that voting democrat means you support infanticide, gay marriage, teaching children that it`s OK to be homosexual etc etc etc

Voting democrat means you are OK with removing the name of Christ (Christ as in Christian) from the classroom/public square etc.

Absolutely voting Democrat means that that person does not have the Spirit of Christ within them, totally Biblical, not said by me in a judgmental way, even though you have taken it that way.

To harm one of my little ones, you would be better if a mill stone was hung around your neck...JESUS

to vote Democrat means you spit on Christ, Absolutely this is true.

So, its alright to vote in favor of abortion then? And teaching children that gayness is preferable, and that God needs to be removed from polite society?

r9etb had the debate for years now. People walk in to the polling booth and pull the handle for a D or a R,knowing full well that the D means a liberal anti Christian Supreme Court.

A person with the Spirit of The Lord Jesus Christ within them, could not/would not do that, so yes it is spitting on Christ/God IMHO.

nOW r9etb I took a quick look at your past posts, and you for one thing are a very anti Palin poster, it`s very obvious that you hold very liberal positions. So I pray for you and wish you well.

You ridiculous twit. According to you, I seem to be headed to hell. And now you're suggesting that salvation comes to those who support Sarah Palin.

I suggest that you stop lecturing us on what constitutes a Christian, you filthy hypocrite.

I'm saying it's not up to Pharisees and hypocrites to decide who goes to heaven. Can I possibly be more blunt in my disdain for your idiocy?

My entire argument was aimed at Democrats, you took such offense to it, that`s why I wondered.

Anyway you are obviously struggling with this issue, sorry to upset you so.

People are responsible for their votes, it involves life and death issues...not just politics as you say.

If a person had Christ in their life they would not be able or want to vote against the things that are important to Him/Christ

nuff from me

If You feel its ok to kill unborn children and to promote homosexual values and to vote for liberal Supreme Court Judges that Spit on Christ, then you my friend are the one that is to be pitied.

The Bible is very clear on all these issues. The Bible leaves no doubt

And yet, the word "Democrat" does not appear in the Bible ... not even once.

And the word "vote" appears only once ... when a Pharisee named Saul says he cast his vote to persecute and kill Christians.

And yet you take it upon yourself to condemn all Democrats to hell. What an arrogant little pharisee you are. I suggest that you grab yourself a handful of humility.

Spoken like a true Democrat, I let you have the last word.

Which was that Jesus is OK with killing unborn children, and that homosexuality is not a abomination.

I shake the dust off my boots. Nothing more I can say, only the Lord himself can change your heart.
