As the battle of the budget wages on, and the March 4th D-Day moves inexorably closer, and with the Continuing Resolution passed in the House of Representatives early this morning, including two amendments by Rep. Steve King (R-IA) to defund Obamacare, the media is increasingly raising the specter of a possible government shutdown. What every Republican, every patriot, every person conceivably affected needs to understand is how this will impact average Americans.
Will airports shut down because air traffic controllers have gone on leave? Will those mean Republicans throw granny out in the street when Social Security stops sending payments? Will everyone who receives checks in the mail see their income dry up because the Post Office shuts down?
Will welfare mothers have to toast rats on a spit to feed their children? The Democrats will tell you that and more. A Google search of “government shutdown” brings up pages describing dire consequences. But if you follow the links you will see that this is more a reflection of leftist web domination than anything else.
The greatest consequence of a government shutdown will be the Democrat-generated media hysteria we will have to put up with unless/until they get their way. They will demagogue at every opportunity, describing fantastic scenes of nationwide anarchy. They will do what they always do, about the only thing they do well, and in fact have already begun doing: They will lie..

Just basically means Obama and Congress will be playing even more golf than usual and taking vacations at tax payer expense of course. We all need to sacrifice, but they and the unions don’t though.

Obama has already said that’s what he wants. Then he sends up a ridiculous budget to the Hill and he’s got budget chaos in the states. He’s pushing for a confrontation and disorder.
Things are much worse than we think. We are in a huge depression and it is not going to end until Obama and Co. are gone for a while. When the interest rates go up Katie bar the door.
Yes. I thought he wanted chaos in the streets last summer but didn’t get it. So he’s not letting the chaos in Egypt go to waste now. I think he’s encouraging his Organizing for America army to use their training now and probably this summer.
The media always lie about Repubs and Demos. Until the media change, Repubs will always be blamed for every ill and never get credit when credit is due them (Reagan and fall of the Soviet Union anyone?)
A government shutdown to only essential services and interest payments would be no problem. If it went on indefinitely that would be actually good, as investor confidence would climb, based on the fact that the Federal government would be better able to meet it’s debt obligations and the need for higher taxes would go away.
Nothing could be better for the enconomy and the private sector. Government employees and contractors would suffer, that’s all. For them, the gravy train would only go as fast as the Federal government could truly afford. They transition back into the private sector as the party ended.
IT’s not anarchy, it’s the people rising up for their freedom.
It’s time for Obama to step down so the US can transition to democracy.

I have a clue and hope that it happens! So many folks have no idea just how bad it will be if the situation continues as is.
It is long past time to take a stand regardless of the consequences. Of course there will be pain spread across the spectrum but think of the problems that will occur if changes are not done. It is not only time, but if this chance passes us by, we are lost...
The Democratic plan will NOT work this time (blame the Republicans - save the workers)! Things have changed and they are not only have no idea about the changes, they will be more ignorant in the future... This is a good thing...but it will take Republicans several years to undo the problems that they have caused.
