Van’s Grand Plan to Span the Land: A Union Protest at Every State Capitol
The Blaze ^ | February 23, 2011 | Jonathon M. Seidl

The unrest in Wisconsin has inspired Van Jones.

In fact, he‘s so touched by the outpouring of support for the unions he’s calling on people across the country to protest even more. And everywhere. This week, Jones announced a plan to “rally on the steps of every statehouse in the union,“ calling it the ”positive” Tea Party moment. Not surprisingly, the plan is being sponsored by a who’s who of progressive organizations.

“Moveon.org and others have issued just this kind of call to action; everyone should prioritize responding and turning out in large numbers,” Jones says in an op-ed on the Huffington Post titled, “Introducing the ‘American Dream’ Movement.”

...In Wisconsin and around our country, the American Dream is under fierce attack,” the site (a part of Moveon.org) says. “Instead of creating jobs, Republicans are giving tax breaks to corporations and the very rich—and then cutting funding for education, police, emergency response, and vital human services.”

Another section of the George Soros-funded Moveon.org calls the gatherings “emergency rallies” and notes, “We are all Wisconsin. We are all Americans.”

There are currently 40 rallies planned for Saturday at 12 pm local time. They are not all scheduled for state houses, however, as some rallies will take place in major metropolises, such as one set to lay siege to the New York Stock Exchange.

...“If we take a bold and courageous stand, over time, we can win,” Jones writes. “Make no mistake about it: this is our “Tea Party” moment — in a positive sense.”

Frances Fox Piven would be so proud

I do not doubt they have the money and manpower to do this. I do question the wisdom.

I will go out on a limb and predict that they do pull this (demonstration in every state capital) that it will hurt their cause more than help it.

Public sector unions are ponzi schemes. Those that got in early get a big payoff. But the reason ponzi schemes are illegal is because there is never enough new money to pay all those expecting to collect. Eventually it all collapses.

So even if the Unions and their friends in the Democrat party manage to block reform it just kicks the can to sometime in the future.

Reform is coming, and it is going to hurt, but it will hurt a lot less if done now rather than allowing the problem to get even bigger.

The more the unions demonstrate the more the average citizen becomes aware of the problem and that is not really a good thing if you are a union and you want to keep the public in the dark.

Another prediction, we are seeing the beginning of the end of public employee unions (and with them the money train to the Democrat Party).

These lefty nutjobs are trying to use central planning to organize “grassroots” gatherings. They spend millions of dollars trying aggrandize the megalomaniac “leaders” like Trumka and Van Jones, but the whole thing comes off as a series of cheap P.R. stunts. There is no grassroots support.

I LOVE this idea! Let's hope this happens! It will show people all over the country that civil service and private industry unions are actually money laundering schemes to keep ;liberal anti American Democrats in office.
Please do this schmucks, please do this!

I hope they have large, loud, menacing protests in every capital. The more pugnacious the better. Maybe it will wake up the sleeping throngs to the threat we face.

Agreed. Good, let them keep up the publicity.
