As the nation is riveted by the antics of wildly overpaid narcissistic drug addict, Charlie Sheen, the anti Sheen passed away.
We had the good fortune to see Jane Russell perform at a fund raiser for Soliders Organized Services (SOS) in Palm Springs. The organization provides free transportation for Marines from Palm Springs airport to the base at 29 Palms, a trip that can easily cost $150.
The event was held in the Palm Springs Air Museum, a wonderful place to visit. It was set up to feel like a 1940′s USO show. Miss Russell was the highlight of the evening. She looked stunning and captivated us all with her songs and her special presence.
How far we have fallen. Good night, dear Jane.
And with them goes America's innocence and moral salvation.
Rest in peace Jane, America is dying along with your kind.
She was absolutely beautiful...inside and out.
Three years in a row, she attended CPAC. My husband and I enjoyed talking with her. RIP beautiful lady..........
Thanks for posting that stunning photo.
A true beauty.
Sidebar about SOS (I live in the Coachella Valley)....this groups gets regularly denigrated by local “activists” - mostly the Palm Sproings kinkies; because it has ‘anything to do’ with things military.
What a magnificent beautiful woman Jane Russell was.
Not to mention a terrific actress.
Among my favorite Russell roles are UNDERWATER, FATE IS THE HUNTER, THE LAS VEGAS STORY and PALEFACE.
Jane Russell was born in my hometown Waterbury Connecticut
When I was 10 oh what a joy,
Mom told me I was a boy......
Groucho Marx once said that the definition of ‘cultured’ is being able to describe Jane Russell without moving your hands.
You gotta love Groucho. He had a way with words...and with women.
