The Chevy Volt may end up becoming a huge embarrassment for GM.

May? It doesn't look like it can be anything but. Investors and taxpayers get taken to the cleaners again by Obama, GM and the UAW.

I don’t know. I mean, Barry drove it ten feet and said it was a great car. If he said it, well then it must be true and we should rush out and by one. Oh, wait. Let’s get one during the Christmas Season car buying rampage.

If it was such a winner, the Volt wouldn't need a massive Gov't rebate to buy one. I see this car as the next punchline, officially retiring the Yugo.

I guess I’m not surprised at any of this. The Big Three aren’t so big anymore among a lot of people...well, except maybe union members.

I am still waiting for the article explaining how GM made a profit last year. I assume it is a combination of accounting tricks and government bulk purchases but until someone does the research this is just my speculation.

“...with expectations as high as 120,000 in 2012”

Sure its a crazy number pulled out of his back side; but, lets just multiply that by the $7,500 subsidy, shall we?

$900,000,000

Really?

One can purchase a 2011 Corvette Coup for $49,000 — screw a bunch of Volts — it an embarrassment and a toy.

And a Corvette is a chick magnet.

I have no idea what a Volt attracts????

I imagine there are rumors at GM dealerships...like stories of Bigfoot...”see Bob over there...his father in law works at a dealership in Jersey, and he sold a Volt. Really, Its true, Bob saw the bill of sale...go ahead, look it up on Snopes.”
