Today I attended the counterprotest held by supporters of Representative Peter Kings investigation into Islamic radicalism. A rally that was held approximately three blocks away from an event staged by radical leftists and Islamic extremists opposed to the very notion of Rep. Kings proposed hearings.
Sponsored by the Liberty Alliance-and co-sponsored by numerous anti-sharia organizations throughout the area-it attracted a wide variety of individuals, including many New Yorkers opposed to the construction of the Ground Zero mosque, such as the man pictured above.
The rally was in large part organized and emceed by Andy Sullivan from Blue Collar Corner, an indefatigable opponent of Islamic extremism and supporter of the men and women who sacrificed so much in the hours and days after the 9/11 attacks.

How many were there from both sides?
I'd say three or four dozen from our side showed up.
The weather was abominable, and I'm being generous in my assessment.
Looking around the web. Found this but comments were closed.
Lots of American hating mussies there.
I couldn’t let that one pass. Made me sick.
This was the first I heard of it. Some real crazies there.
I’ll not go there again.
Must wash now.
I'm glad I could be there, even though the weather was terrible, as I mentioned earlier.
Thank you for your Patriotism!
I can’t remember the details, but didn’t a NJ Transit bus driver recently lost his job after being photographed at an anti-Ground Zero mosque rally ?
I think I read that the ACLU is fighting his loss of job.
Good report. I was there very early but when the rain started coming down in buckets I had to retreat.
The NYPD had barricades for the pro-Muslim people stretching from 42nd Street down to 38th, but they were all empty except for the first one as I walked by. People had the expected signs, all about “Islamophobia” and “Hope, not Hate.”
Nice chess move these people play, it occurred to me: Act totally obnoxious and then when there is an outraged reaction, cry “Hate!” and attach “phobia” to something. Same as crying “Racism!” every time a black president is criticized. A way of avoiding discussing the issue and attempting to win the “debate” with the playground tactic of name-calling.
They're on her blog .
Thanks. Yes, that’s the story, but I forgot about the Koran burning part. Not sure that’s my idea of a job termination. Too bad he didn’t think to burn the American flag instead. sigh.
