At the very least, these people should be listed in every newspaper in the U.S. as well as all news sites online... or they should be fired and arrested...
Can you say lien on everything they own?

And most certainly no such person should even be considered for a cabinet post!

I find this difficult to comprehend. About 20 years ago I fell athwart of the IRS and a few months later the IRS seized everything in my bank accounts. Don’t see why the IRS can’t do the same for federal employees.

A measure such as this should have been law forty years ago. Why are we just now considering something that should have been slam-dunk common sense decades before?

Taxes are for little people. And yes I had a run-in with the IRS, too, but I didn’t let it get that far...........

Dont see why the IRS cant do the same for federal employees. Similar experience here. Had a dispute with the IRS and they put a lien on my bank account (which resulted in a bunch of bills bouncing).
FedGov does not provide for garnishment of employee pay? If they don't, then depts should be ordered to junk their payroll systems and go with an outside company like ADP.

The problem is that once you have a jack@ss tax scofflaw like Tim Geithner . . .
serving as the 'effing U.S. Treasury Secretary,
. . . then NOBODY in the Federal government could possibly keep a straight face while implementing such a measure for low-level Federal employees.

Dont see why the IRS cant do the same for federal employees. Har Har. When pigs fly, etc.
I'm gonna throw out a little thought for the folks here. Wouldn't be interesting to run the numbers and see what the ratio of personal audits is based on voter registration/party affiliation.

Yes, difficult to comprehend, given that the Federal Government has control of their paychecks and can just dock their pay.

But what will Geithner do?

NO...... many should be fired whether they pay their taxes OR NOT..
The federal government should be GUTTED.. hopefully the incompetent ones FIRST..
BUT if not.. liquidation should be mandatory.. taxpayers will still benefit..
BUT I admit securing the Senate have to happen first..
Sooo I say de-FUND or at least UNDER-FUND...

I00,000 federal workers. That is quite a bit. I wonder how that is possible. Taxes are taken out of checks automatically. Now perhaps they owe more. I say that if they are retirement eligible make them retire by October 2011. If they are not retirement eligible, tell them they have to pay before June 2011 or they will be dismissed without benefits. I bet you would suddenly have an influx of payments making their way to IRS.

I say we do this with the public sector too. I bet that number is WAY more than 100,000.
To: Jukeman
Sorry meant private sector.
