To the Editor Edmonton Journal March 17, 2011
The letters of poet Goran Simic and history professor Srdja Pavlovic in the wake of Canada's deportation of Dr Srdja Trifkovic are rich in rhetoric, but anemic in factual content. Trifkovic is slammed with the pseudo-psychiatric smear "denial".When Hitler announced on 1 September 1939 that Germany had been attacked by Poland, the Poles denied it. That's not "denial".
It is a secondary school teacher's job to purvey standard information. However a university professor's role is to train university students to be critical and to develop fresh information. For example, a search of the Edmonton Journal will turn up no report until weeks after the purported event of a massacre at Srebrenica of 7000-8000 disarmed Muslim men and boys by uniformed Serbs. Absence of evidence is sometimes evidence of absence.
The Srebrenica story is said to have been broken by David Rohde, in the Guardian of August 19 1995. He writes "United Nations officials estimate that 4000 to 6000 Muslim men are still missing in the wake of the Srebrenica and Zepa assaults." -- MIA is not KIA.
A search by researcher Andy Wilcoxson, however, of the transcripts of the ICTY in the Hague has turned up fresh evidence from the Bosnian government. Here it is in the Hague's official translation: I will send the document in the original language to anyone interested.
