It starts to be the practice that orphaned children are shot en masse, explains Martin Amis in Koba The Dread: Laughter And The Twenty Million (p. 129). Later: The Cheka executes vets and meteorologists. Or as I like to say, Remember Red Russia.
Today, the chatterers focus on terminating unborn babies en masse (todays useless eaters). Some have entertained the possibility of show trials for so-called global warming deniers also known as climate change deniers in light of recent cooling periods. There are no bullets but there are calls to put down the elderly useless eaters (even suicidal teenagers in some cases). This would save power, no doubt.
Of course, the chattering classes have long been attracted to the cult of leadership and the politics of coal and firewood (meaning energy). Returning to Red Russia though even some leftists end up questioning their faith. Or as Lyubov Vasilievna Shaporina, the arty-farty founder of the state-serving Leningrad Puppet Theatre expressed it in late January of 1939 (p.190):
The city is freezing for lack of coal and firewood. Our theatre is using the building of the Tram Workers Park.

A socially incorrect libertarian? Wow. That is new. Libertarians are not supposed to care about ethics - only self gain.
i’m still trying to figure out what this thread has anything to with FR
Good point. Most professional libertarians are very self-orientated.
If you cant see what communist attacks on freedom of thought have to do with Free Republic, Id encourage you to study history as I have. By the way, Free Republic is also focused on international issues (hence the different sections from down under to Canada and so on).
Given that the Hollywood Left is still covering up for Red Russia and the green movement, its important that we across the West stand with truth (meaning unedited history). A great man by the name of Ronald Wilson Reagan understood this.
I completely understand “what communist attacks on freedom of thought have to do with FR” & I agree with you about the “Hollywood Left”. Imagine a USA or any other country without “HOLLYWOOD”. Would be nice wouldn’t it? Unfortunately , it’s not going to happen in our lifetime.
I’d quote some passage on his chapter “HOLLYWOOD from a book I have read by Adin Steinsaltz entitled “Simple Words”but my doing that would not serve the purpose here. I would suggest you pick up a copy.
It’s worth the read & you’ll find more about the “Hollywood Left” than you ever want to know.
I highly recommend this book.
