An incident at a Florida Democratic political fundraiser this week should be front page news in every paper in the country, and the lead story on TV newscasts, but it has been virtually buried . until now
Here are the details.
On Wednesday morning, Vice President Joe Biden attended a fundraiser for Democratic Senator Bill Nelson. The event was at the home of billionaire real estate developer Alan Ginsberg, a long-time Dem supporter. Ginsbergs enormous lakefront home is in an exclusive section of Winter Park, an uber-upscale Orlando suburb. To give you an idea of the size and opulence of the home, it was originally built for Orlando Magic and NBA superstar Horace Grant.
The Orlando Sentinel assigned longtime reporter Scott Powers to cover the event. But when he arrived, Biden staffers decided they didnt want him mingling with the 150 guests who had forked over $500 to meet Biden, so they locked him in a closet! A member of the Biden advance team even stood guard outside the door to prevent Powers from escaping.
Powers has all the details, even pictures of the inside of the closet where he was held; but it appears the Sentinel editors have refused to let him report on all the details of what some are calling a kidnapping! There was a very brief, and very vanilla mention of the incident in Thursdays paper. One attendee later emailed the Sentinel to say I was in attendance at the Fundraiser and enjoyed a nice lunch. If I had known there was a reporter stuffed in the closet, I would have been compelled to stand up and demand answers. I would also like to know if this is actually legal to treat people like caged animals. Im disgusted by these actions.
Despite this outrage, Sentinel editors have dropped the story.
Some longtime journalists are furious with Bidens team over the incident. Some are more angry at Sentinel editors for downplaying the story. Others are asking where was the Secret Service when a crime was obviously being committed? Others appear to have no problem with it, since it involves their Administration that can do no wrong.
So far, none of the DC papers or TV networks has covered the story, but of course, they are the first to cry in outrage when dictators imprison reporters overseas. What have we become: Cuba, Iran, Libya, or Stalinist Russia, that we would allow such police-state tactics to muzzle the media?
Does the Free Press still exist in America? Or are we relegated to the status of a Banana Republic where the media approves anything Team Obama does?
Some people saw this coming when then-Vice Presidential candidate Joe Biden exploded and flatly refused to answer the insightful questions of an Orlando television reporter when she asked about Obamas connections to ACORN, socialism and his spread the wealth comments to Joe the Plumber. Since then, Bidens mandate seems to have changed from refusing to answer embarrassing questions, to imprisoning reporters who might ask them.
HOLY COW! I’m in shock.
Interesting, and if can be verified/supported, I hope that it goes viral. Thanks for posting.
I'm gonna give Plugs a pass on this one.
Maybe they noticed he didn’t have the requisite knee pads on when he attempted to cover the event.
If you can verify this it needs to get to Drudge, Gateway Pundit, the Bigs, Ace of Spades, etc.
How you know this?
Our media went ballistic, calling Bush a fascist, because some of his supporters decided to stop buying Dixie Chick records! They considered this some form of government sponsored censorship!
They even made an Oscar-nominated documentary to highlight how the fat chick suffered under the fascist regime.
I thought Biden was on vacation in FL to see some baseball spring training while Barry was in Rio and Libya was being bombed, but I guess he was really there to raise some cash.
The reporter is lucky he wasn’t run over by the VP’s limo. It’s been known to happen.
The MSM is simply the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party and only repeat the same leftist talking points ad nauseum. The “reporter” was lucky he was just locked in the closet. He will probably lose his job if he says anything about it.There are no journalists, just shills for Obama.
So what was Bill Nelson & the others talking about that they didn’t want a reporter to hear. I’m all for getting rid of Nelson along with the imposter in chief & his crazy sidekick.
Kidnapping —and if the paper keeps it mum, I think it may be a tort.
A crime has been committed, and a tort has been committed, sure, but it’s more and more clear that we need an entire parallel media apparatus.
The link shows photo and Sentinel’s attempt to softpedal the story.
Most reporters are outraged at editors for it.
And we'll never hear another thing about it.
This story needs to get legs.
Biden shows himself to be a totalitarian tyrant here. No free press for him!
And, yes, their actions do fit the legal definition of kidnapping.
Remember when OJ and his thugs did this to the baseball collector guy in a hotel room in Vegas? The charges stuck!
My jaw dropped when I read that. It sounds like something Biden would say.
Please fwd to them if you have links.
We're on the fast track, IMO.
The MSM is aiding and abetting their demise.
If not kidnapping, certainly false imprisonment.
I guess it depends on the Florida statutes.
This sort of stuff happened to Kolchak in every episode.
Texas Tech’s Adam James thinks this reporter’s a wuss.
Great work MB!
You say it’s now released to all other media; including Drudge and Breibart? Hope it grows legs.
I hope that reporter stands firm and keeps screaming about this.
or, WHO was attending the fundraiser that they didn't want him to see?
It is kidnapping by our FL statues, see post below yours.
It’s not a crime if they say it isn’t bookmark.
This is what they want to do to all of us. Would that closet qualify as a Concentration Camp?
Great work. Wasn’t Alan Ginsberg the one who also was the primary funder of the “fake tea party” in the last election cycle? Does appear they are taking direct orders from the White House. There is no level these people would not stoop to in their quest and hold on power.
I can’t imagine anyone would be surprised by this. Leftists consider themselves dictators and above the law and “reporters” nothing but fellow leftist America haters who happened to choose journalism as a means of Marxist indoctrination rather than politics, teaching or environmentalism. Apparently this guy was an actual reporter of some kind.
However, someone removed it from FPN.
At FR, do we only repost what others have written, or do we realize that FR has been the source of some great original stories, such as Rathergate, Palin’s nomination, etc?
If FR can't handle real breaking news, and is only a “followers’ site”, please let us current and former professional newspeople know so we can post elsewhere.
Works for me!
Here’s a bird’s eye view of his house. It doesn’t want to link but click on the photo here:
I guess he’s lucky that he only experienced being locked in a closet. He could have been run over by Biden’s motorcade.
This criminal regime has to be dealt with, now or never.
The only thing better than a Friday afternoon news dump is a Saturday afternoon news dump. What story? The msm is waiting for the Soros team to write the Won’s Monday spin speech. The teleprompter has been drinking.
I have a hard time buying into this story. It is much easier to escort an uninvited guest out of the home than it is to lock them in a closet.
Since when did you expect Biden and his staff to be smart?
Plus the backstory from above.
This one is a press one, but if the reporter doesn't complain, and the paper doesn't complain, then the evil people get away with it.
Since 2006 I have been working on a conservative press service and these bookmarks help me build a case when making presentations.
Since it has been since 2006 think of them as:
“Bookmarking the futile, bookmark.”
Should be in Breaking. If it’s wrong, FReeoers will debunk it.
Thanks MindBender26 ,Bump.
