Yeah. Rummie went under Bush’s bus. He’s pretty much old school.

Gut tells me she asked him for advice, but we will NEVER know it. Her organization doesn’t leak.

I didn’t agree with everything he did but like him or not he has always been, and still is, a thoughtful and insightful man. He has some perspective.

That was great to hear him say he is glad the Tea Party is doing what they are doing. That spending is out of control and too many people are way to comfy in Washington and need to reign in the terrible debt our children are going to suffer.

Rumsfeld developed a very bad case of tunnel vision with his his rushed military transformation program (nobody hears about THAT anymore) and the onset of jihadi warfare in Iraq in 2004, but outside of the military, he is a master politician and knows talent when he sees it.

I like old Rummy! I’m halfway through his book. Very interesting in most segments, but “a tough slog.”

This may sound silly, but a was a politcal nutcase when I turned 9. My bro was about to be drafted, my sister was a poli sci major and I paid attention.

I have always had tremendous respect for Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney.

They were the Good Guys, still are in spite of all of the CRAP that they have been subjected to.

God Bless both of these Patriots.

I’m not surprised at all. He is a very smart, common sense kinda guy...great work ethic, and has a HUGE sense of purpose and knows right from wrong to his core.

He makes me feel safe when I hear him speak. He has a trusting spirit, he stands out as a real man.
God bless him for his love of country. I thank him for standing up for the Tea Party and Sarah. How I wish we had other politicians to stand up for our side.

The real Donald Rumsfeld has always been very, very different from the media version of Donald Rumsfeld.

Your post is so on target. I wish Rummy could read it and know how very much he made us feel proud to be Americans and safe within our nation.

What a stud! (sigh-:^)

I felt so safe with the men and woman President Bush chose to surround himself with as advisors and appointees. From Rummy to Condi to Cheney to the full cabinet, President Bush chose intelligent, accomplished, American loving good, solid people.

People who would challange him and inform him with their expertise and intelligence. President Bush did not surround himself with yes men and pay back people and communists (van jones comes to mind) and dirtbags. He was confident enough in himself to welcome into our WH the best of the best.

Clinton and uhbama brought in the payback people-unexperienced and unable to provide their bosses with the expertise necessary to help run this nation. Neither of those two creeps could afford the ego brusing you take as a good leader when you surround yourself with people deeply experienced in their fields. ( Remember when clinton brought out his cabinet to stand before the press and profess clinton's purity?) Disgusting.

clinton and uhbama needed yes men.
