Trump in so many things he says just makes too much sense and says the things that those in DC are too scared to say in public since more worried about votes and power. Basically, Trump will not be seen as presidential to many because he doesn’t say a bunch of nothing like most of our politicians do and have done for years. I don’t think he can win because of that, but I will enjoy him making the others squirm.
Nice one. People should actually listen to what he’s saying instead of crapping all over him when he hasn’t even announced that he’s running for office yet.
This is a good quote: “I didn’t notice Swedish people knocking down the World Trade Center.”
Somebody try and point out any other politician (or any other person on TV) saying we should take Iraq’s oil after investing American dollars in that country.
If nothing else, he makes the Dems very nervous.
Says he can't do anything until the TV show ends. I think that's about June 1.
THAT IS EXACTLY MY POINT
I have NEVER seen more than 15 mins of Trump’s show... and just that once!
I only listen to what he says, look at the platform, admire the courage and obviously sincere patriotism... Trump loves this freaking country, why wouldn’t he...?
But above all, WE MUST WIN THIS ELECTION... and Trump is a PROVEN winner
If you want to camouflage comb-over boy as a conservative, you better make sure you keep focused on quotes from just the last few months!
You are 100% correct on every point
After what our Military has done, we shouldn’t just leave it all for Iran. He’s right. He thinks like a businessman.
America’s Morning News had a political ‘expert’ on this morning praising Romney; condemning Trump as a quack. Said Trump was un-electable but Romney has what it takes to defeat Obama.
...the drama begins...
Reagan was a democrat for years, and I Guiliani promised a pro life and anti gay marriage platform as Trump is doing... I would have supported him, frankly.
I don’t know Donald Trump to be intentionally dishonest, and he offers very clear examples of why he has switched to a pro-life platform, not least of which is his Christian faith and the lesson that friends who had unwanted children grew to adore them as God’s greatest gift.
You know, to me Trump is far more principled and frank about his platform and how he got there than Newt, Mitt, Huckster, et. al
And don’t tell me “Pawlenty”- guy’s go the personality of a parking meter lol
The pubbies have had the Trump points for as long as he has had them. The only thing is the front running pubbies can’t say them. They want to be all things to all people.
Trump is stating all of the things that we, Conservatives, spend hours screaming at our television for our so-called Repubic elected officials to state. Yet, so many people just willy-nilly dismiss him. Does that make much sense? Would I have considered Trump to be the ‘dark-horse’ candidate a year ago or two years ago? NO, he was not even in my realm of thought. However, he is addressing the issues that resonate with me. He knows when he’s getting screwed in a deal - does Obama or even Boehner?
I am open to his candidacy at this point. I find it a bit refreshing to see someone tackle the right issues head on without fear of possible MSM scrutiny - he just doesn’t give a damn. Good! Sure, he is no stranger to smokey, backroom, wink and nod deals - he could not have achieved what he has without the ability to maneuver the political scene. I find that insight to be a good thing. He knows how the machines operate. Given that he loves this country and is committed to preserving the freedoms and fiscal solvency of our nation, I think we may need someone like Trump.
I’m not going all in to support him yet. It’s too early and the field isn’t yet known. But, I will certainly listen eagerly to his views and await his performance in debates. I’m open to the idea of a President Trump.
I think every one of the possible GOP candidates - including both Huck and Mitt, who I would not vote for - has more personal integrity than Mr. Deal Maker, fast buck, reality star, casino operator, eminent domain vulture, comb-over boy.
He speaks the Truth. He challenges political correctness. He asks the questions that need to be asked. And Obama and his Chicago Thugs and the MSM will not be able to touch him.
I love it. Get the popcorn.
Um...no...trump can pound sand....he’s a RINO...I dont care what words he is saying to please you NOW...his record is support for dems including Hillery.
Trump may have trouble explaining to conservatives why, if hes against Obamacare... why did he contribute money to the re-election campaign of Anthony Weiner, one of the health care bills self-proclaimed authors?
If Trumps against gun control (or corruption for that matter), why the contribution to Charles Rangel, who rates an F on gun rights from the NRA (as does Weiner and others on The Donalds donation list)?
Trump says hes pro-life, but has given money to Hillary Clinton and Chuck Schumer two politicians who make thrills go up NARALs leg.
Trumps contributed money to the campaigns of Frank Lautenberg, Ted Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, Harry Reid, Arlen Specter and Dick Durbin so much for the lower taxes concern. Could a true conservative have brought himself to sign any of those donation checks without slitting his wrists with the pen afterwards?

The Donald does what is good for The Donald, that is why he is successful. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a President that would do what was good for it’s citizens?
The Donald is a businessman first and foremost, not a politician. He will spread it around to make sure he has whoever’s ear he needs. He has one goal and one goal only, to make money.
And quite frankly, while all of us here knew Obama would be a nightmare, I don’t think anyone in their wildest imagination could have predicted this. Anybody who is honest, be it Republican, Conservative, Libertarian, Independent or even some Democrats have to be absolutely horrified by what is happening now.

You answered your own question:
“Wouldnt it be nice to have a President that would do what was good for its citizens?”
“The Donald does what is good for The Donald,”
Trump is all about trump, being all about trump.
If you want a nice big second helping of Barack Hussein Obama, you better keep focused on candidates that have minimal chance of beating him in 2012. Lets at least give the guy the opportunity to earn our support.
Great big DITTO’S. He is saying everything that network watching joe six-pack thinks and feels. He is hitting home for many of us.
I can look past the social issues to vote for someone who will protect our freedoms. We can debate the social issues in a free country- if we don’t have a free country, it doesn’t matter.
I will be investigating and watching Mr. Trump closely- he is not a politician, which means EVERYTHING.
There is zero daylight between us on this issue, I’ll tell you that
I want Trump around right through the primary debates, and a minimum... and I’ll say this: Trump will be leading the next few polls they take, I’d bet money on it
A proven winner, I sure he would bring John Bolton on board at the State Department... that’s what this country needs, then we and Israel can foment an overdue Iranian regime change
“If you want a nice big second helping of Barack Hussein Obama, you better keep focused on candidates that have minimal chance of beating him in 2012. Lets at least give the guy the opportunity to earn our support.”
I’m with you on this. All of these candidates are flawed in some way. Certainly Trump has his faults, but you need somebody strong like hi who is not afraid of the SRM (in fact in a lot of ways they are afraid of him) or anyone else, to take Obama out. None of the other candidates I see, at this point, are capable of doing this. In a perfect world I would love for Gov Palin to be elected, but I don’t know if she can overcome the demonization of the media to be elected. The media cannot do to Trump what they will do to her. If someone else like Trump does not surface I fear four more years of Steve Dunham and I don’t think this country would survive that. I am going to give Trump a chance and see where this goes.
That was to be “sure would be nice if he brought John Bolton on at State Dept”
Trump is about America and making it the best place on earth.
I disagree that it’s “all about Trump”. For example, how was this effort all about Trump?
Heres a summary of the Wollman Rink effort detailed in his 1987 book “The Art of the Deal”:
After NYC spent $13 million dollars and 6 years trying to rebuild the ice rink, Trump looked at the mess and came in and offered to donate $3 million dollars to build the ice rink. He brought in experts from Toronto and did it the right way.
Results: Completed in 5 months. $750,000 under budget. He used the leftover money to renovate the adjacent skatehouse and restaurant. Earned $1.2 million in revenues the 1st season. He turned it into a profit center for the city (profits exceeded $500,000 the first year - all of it went to the Parks department and charity).
Maybe he did it for pride (that would be “all about Trump”), but he is America First and proud of it.
If he vowed to do this, he would have my vote.
We’re coming from the same place, Caped Crusdader
To be honest, yesterday was the first day in two years were I really started to think Sarah’s beyond repair this round, at least for the top of the ticket.
I adore her... but probably not this time, I’ll look how the polls go but have to keep an open mind after the way they’ve devastated this woman -who any normal human being would LOVE to have as a nieghbor. I think she can recover, but it will Trump would keep the topic on OBAMA... Palin would at min. too often find herself wasting precious time and resources on the defensive while losing control of the debate.
Trump would spend every minute making mincemeat out of Obama’s BS narrative and horrendous record... and with a big winner’s smile
Go get em, Mr Trump
That one had a big effect on my thinking too, MP
Well, we’ll never know after the Huckster had that big ole bonfire out back behind the AK Governor’s Mansion his last week in office, will we?
I think my main criterion for who will get my vote in the next presidential election is who Whoopi Goldberg rails against and spews her venom at. Knowing she hates a person is possibly the best endorsement a candidate could get.
Same goes for Joy(less) Behar and Michael Moore and David Gregory and Lawrence “i’m a proud socialist” O’Donnell and all the rest of those clowns. You all know the list in your heads.
You have a great Palin site Josh, but seriously- you know as well as I that a real estate developer needs to donate to all major politicians, and that NYC is run by Democrats
I adore Sarah, you know it... but I don’t think she can win this time, I’m sorry. I would love it if she could pull it off, the the high negatives will need to come down real, real fast
Trump is a class act, imo
Just as Reagan said... “If we don’t win the Cold War, we won’t need to worry about any social programs”
I love his truthful talk about global business. I have always winced with how we kowtow to the Chinese. Trump is refreshing and we may need him before we short term our country out of existence by letting other lands “own” us economically.
Yep, social issues are still important, but first and foremost needs to be a laser-like focus on saving our country from falling off a fiscal cliff. Trump seems dedicated to getting us on a sound financial footing as a country and doing whatever it takes to avoid having other nations treat us like suckers.
Perhaps one term of Trump steering us away from economic collapse followed by two terms of Palin and/or Bachmann getting us on a strong moral track could be just the revival this country needs.
But I’m making a pledge right now that I’ll vote for WHOMEVER our candidate is in the general election next year because we simply cannot survive 4 more years of Zero’s destruction.
I’m not at all thrilled about Huck or Mitt or Newt or Rudy, but if one of them is the choice against Zero, I’ll hold my nose and push the button for them, same as I did for McLame.
Who do YOU think can win?I really don’t think Trump will run for President.
Good point about Pakistani aid. Good point about the Mexican border.
Trump keeps nailing it and not avoiding taking stands.
Speaking of “You’re Fired”, even Trump’s show TV show is based on his decision making abilities and common sense judgement. You don’t see other potential candidates display real-time decision making for all of America to see on a weekly basis. Trump puts it out there for everyone to see for themselves.
That was my first reaction when I heard people talking about a Trump run a year or so ago...and it was my opinion just a couple of months ago. But I've come around. In a big way! It is SOOOOOOOOOOO refreshing to hear someone in the public limelight speak his mind in an honest and open way. Not even Palin or Bachmann have been as forthright as Donald Trump has been and I for one will support him 100% if he does indeed run for the GOP nomination.
Interesting story...I took my sales force to dinner last week and one of my folks asked if anyone had been following Trump lately. Everyone had and all but 1 were very enthusiastic about him. One was still of the opinion that this is all a publicity stunt. I hope like hell he's wrong. But it was great to hear 7 people agree with what I've been thinking...and one of those guys was an obama voter!
Trump is most equipped to win, imo
Name recognition... tons of money... killer organization.
I’m starting to think he’d crush Obama like a bug
IF you asked me a week ago, I said “no Trump”
Then I watched about five recent Trump interviews on Sunday afternoon...
Additionally, he speaks without a teleprompter. His beliefs aren't scripted!!!
This guy’s going to attract many Republicans as well as Democrats...
