Like I wrote in my previous post, as a very smart businessman Trump will buy any politician available for sale. Trump is not running RNC, owes nothing to GOP. He invests his money for business success and contributing to politicians of all stripes in NY state is what he has to do to avoid boulders thrown in his path to success.
In case you have not noticed, most politicians in NY state are democrats. That is where Trump has his base operation, in NY.

The wealth tax was weird, but it was coupled with an elimination of the death tax completely, if I remember right.
While I don’t agree with it, it made sense in a way. Pay less now, save more later, and brute-force the national debt out of existence.
It wouldn’t work now. Not sure it would have then either, I think people would have found ways around it.
I’d be interested in what he says about it now.

This post is particularly important for all the Ross Trump Freepers who have had their long knives drawn the last two days. Donald Perot is a straw dog the dems want to split the conservative vote and money.
He is, either of his own volition or at the behest of the powers that be behind the dem party nothing but another moving target to split the conservative party. Be done with him and put your energies and efforts behind candidates we need are are REAL.

He supported Harry Reid over Angle. I don’t know how much more evidence they need. This is ridiculous.

Right on! Those of us who remember the Perot candidacy see too many similarities here. Even if the Donald’s intentions are pure, his independent candidacy may prove deadly.
Just imagine having the Imam in the White House for another term!

I would say you’re a leftist by default when you have no principles. This means all rinos and “moderates” are leftists. Giving to candidates of opposite ideology, though very common, is an example of the corruption of principle by politics or business.
Leftist ideology is in essence merely corruption itself. You have the marxist, socialist version of corruption and then there’s the me-centered, Donald Trump version. The two are not very different.

That just shows many on FR get caught up in "Fads" and will role with a Perot type and not look behind the smoke and mirrors. My of them will still be on FR arguing for Trump right up till Obama wins.. again!
I expect many of us on this thread will still get angry mail from the Ross Trump or Donald Perot types.
Folks grow up and pay attention to the facts, not the fads. Politics is for big people, not kiddie whims.

“Trump seems to be positioning himself to split the anti-Obama vote by grabbing some of the conservative groups, and thus guaranteeing Obama victory in 2012.”
Yup!

Has Trump benefited directly from TARP? The reason I ask is that it seems a lot of taxpayer money was used to buy troubled loans and he is rumored to have some troubled properties.
This thread goes into how TARP was used to unload bad loans on the American taxpayer.

Im really shocked at how many Freepers, that should know better, have made him some kind of political ideal for no other reason other than hes a birther. And all other prospective candidates, including ones they were enamored with a few months back are now yesterdays news and have been tossed aside. These Trumpsters for lack of a better word, will follow him now to the ends of the earth or until it becomes clear that hes not going to run - and that he has taken them all for a ride.

There is no trusting Trump. Ever. And you are still a newbie. A plant to push Trump?

Thank you J. We’ve got to stop this ASAP. I hear he’s addressing a Tea Party in Fla? Any way we can contact that Tea Party and tell them to refudiate this clown?

It's been awhile since we heard from the Ron Paul bunch here. I'm wondering if they just changed hats and are just up to the same tactics used when flooding FR with Paul stuff. Or worse, maybe even Larouchers. I wouldn’t put it past them.
To: NavyCanDo
There is so much underhanded stuff going down now, it’s getting almost impossible to sort out the truth. The one thing I know for sure, Sarah Palin is a true blue conservative and she has earned the right to lead this country back to sanity. This Trump thing is downright embarrassing because all he had to do was start pretending to be a birther (which is the insulting term the left uses for conservatives) and some folks grab onto him like he’s the lifeline. The b*****d in our White House knows how to destroy his enemies. Are we stupid enough to fall for it?

It does not matter, as there a number who will vote for him or not vote at all. They are carried away and there is no going back.
They are like some middle age man who is already hooked by some Russian email love and really believe he is it for them. They are already hooked and for them it is a repudiation of their manhood, and they thought common sense.
They are done to the conservative party as voters already. It is just life.

That is the sign of a very smart businessman. He bought all the politicians available for sale who would not then throw roadblocks in his path to success. Agree with ya. Very few businesses donate only to members of one party. Trump merely did what seemed best for his businesses. This is much ado about nothing.
