I didn’t have a need for a SSN until I turned 12 and had a paper route.

I think O’Reilly does all his research through Snopes.

I've heard O'Reilly say in the past that he's computer illiterate. His staff might be going to Snopes.

I've been trying to get away from watching news at night. It was giving me insomnia.

democrats are out to harm this country, for whatever reason, and it's driven me to watch alternative tv.

'The Mentalist' is on tonight...

And the dead person’s name associated with your SSN?

Is that the case for Obama? I've seen threads mentioning somebody who had a SSN that was one plus Obama's who died.

” Back in those days you had to have reached the age where you could legally work - usually around 16, before you could get a Social Security number.”

So true. I got mine at 15 when I got a job working behind a lunch counter in a drugstore. Was getting $1.25 an hour big bucks back in the days of 18 cents a gallon gas and 10 cent loafs of bread.

Zero’s dad would’ve have been issued a SS#. He wasn’t a citizen. Doesn’t Ted realize this little fact?

Stop looking out for the folks, O’Reilly. You’re doing a poor job of it.

“He was in Indonesia before he was five and would have needed a passport.”

I don’t know if you needed a SSN for passports back then, but you certainly wouldn’t need one if you were traveling on a FOREIGN passport.

They didn’t issue SS#’s to kids back then. Why is O”Reilly so quick to “Flak” for this guy?

This is what drives me crazy. Obama got his SSN as a teenager, and the quickest of looks into the facts would tell you that. Why doesn't O'Reilly want to do that? What the heck is going on with him? (And Beck and Coulter, etc.?)

What amazes me about O’Reily and other talking heads is how uninformed that they truly are. They are in the news dissemination business and most act as if they have never heard about so many things in the news.

The fact is they live in a tight bubble. If it doesn't come over the AP ticker, or through the NYT it still hasn't happened.

They are as stupid and convoluted in their thinking as the general idiot population. The worst part of that is that unlike the general population they are supposed to be well educated. O’Reily loves to tout his Harvard degree. Just like Olberman liked to tout his Ivy League education. Yet, like Obama, they are as ignorant as most of the people who end up on the Tonight Shows Jay Walk Alstars.

Obama had to have a SS# earlier than that. He had a Passport as a child. He was all over the World. He lived in Indonesia, he visited his sperm done father in Kenya, all before he was a teenager.

Thanks for the link.

I listened to it and it was very informative.

If the SS # Barry uses was issued in the 80’s he had to have had another one when he received a passport to travel to Indonesia when he was 5 years old.

Am I correct in this assumption?

This is from http://www.passportsandvisas.com/passport/faqpassport.asp#

Do I have to provide my Social Security Number?

Section 6039E of the Internal Revenue Code (26 U.S.C. 6039E) requires you to provide your Social Security Number (SSN), if you have one, when you apply for a U.S. passport or renewal of a U.S. passport. If you have not been issued a SSN, enter zeros in box #5 of the passport application form you are completing. Contact the Social Security Administration to request a Number. If you are residing abroad, you must also provide the name of the foreign country in which you are residing. The U.S. Department of State must provide your SSN and foreign residence information to the Department of Treasury. If you fail to provide the information, you are subject to a $500 penalty enforced by the IRS. All questions on this matter should be directed to the nearest IRS office.

Just like when he said he investigated the birth in Hawaii thing. First he said his investigation showed that 0 was born in Hawaii based on the newspaper announcement, but that was debunked, so now he says that he personally saw the BC and it is all in order, even though no one else has seen it. He’s so full of it.

...."Back when? I got mine when I was 9 in 1973."....

Correct,...you got a SS# when you applied for it. There was not usually a need for it till you started working, but you could get one at any time. I always thought it was from where you applied, that is why you can identify the state with the first 3 digits. I hadn't ever heard of any anomalies about getting a number from another state. Kinda defeats the purpose of having state identifiers. I never understood why there wasn't a big kerfuffle when it became mandatory to get one at birth. You know we have been fighting getting a "mark of the beast" number for decades. Any type of universal identifier should have caused a ruckus, but didn't in this case. We all just fell into line an obeyed the gubmint.

I knew a guy that didn't have a SS# and was about 50. What a life he led. It was almost impossible for him to live, but he wouldn't take a SS# for religious reasons. Worked for cash, lived with friends and relatives, ect. That was 20 years ago. He's probably drawing SSI now on the dole. Either that or ole Beelzebub done put his mark on him.

They did procure life insurance policies on us.

Good for your parents, the where very responsible people and did you a great favor by getting you life insurance when you where a child. Everyone should get their child a life insurance policy with a guaranteed purchase options rider. This is a very important thing to do.

That is why you have an ss#, it was a required line on the application so that the insurance company could know who they where insuring.

‘He’s hiding the fact that he could not have registered for selective service as required by law in order to have gotten all his free money for colleges and law school’

Do you need a SS# in order to get aid for foreign born students? That is interesting, He didn’t get a SS# until after he was out of Occidental, how did he pay for Occidental or get a student loan without a SS#. You couldn’t get a loan, student or otherwise in 1980 without a SS#.

Lots of holes in this guys story. Who the Hell has this many oddities in their background.

What we need here is a "Mickey Moore" type movie to come out showing how all this could be done. Either Trump or the Koch brothers could finance it and just put all the birthers on camera to show what they have without interrupting them.

I just got an email this AM about an alleged IRS agent that says he figures Obama is hiding a criminal past as a drug mule in Pakistan. He supposedly has to follow criminal trails all the time like this to catch illegal income. This spiraled out of control when the Dems took over and put professional crooks in charge of "grooming" him for public office. We are talking top notch criminals from Chicago that know what they are doing. International drug runners have powerful connections in every government and certainly have the money to make it happen. Obama just went along for the ride because he didn't want to be outed and he had very powerful help. Much of his theory was confirmed in Obama's books. You just have to fill in the blanks. Ayres and other thugs finally got their wish and planted one of theirs in the WH without firing a shot.

When I was 8 years old my mother took us kids to England for a month to visit all the relatives for the first time. We were on her passport. I didn’t get a SSN until I started working around age 15.

I was born in 1961 and there was no ssn issued for me then. I was born in upstate NY. I got my SSN in 1976 so I could start to work and do odd jobs. Perhaps the change in ssn issuance rules came later so that by the mid 60’s all children got them issued...perhaps as part of the “great society” welfare build up the FED’s were doing at the time.

BORN IN THE USA?

Oops! Obama mama passport ‘destroyed’
State Dept. claims records gone for Stanley Ann Dunham prior to 1968

Photo from Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro’s 1972 passport records

Responding to a Freedom of Information Act request, the State Department has released passport records of Stanley Ann Dunham, President Obama’s mother – but records for the years surrounding Obama’s 1961 birth are missing.

The State Department claims a 1980s General Services Administration directive resulted in the destruction of many passport applications and other “nonvital” passport records, including Dunham’s 1965 passport application and any other passports she may have applied for or held prior to 1965.

Destroyed, then, would also be any records shedding light on whether Dunham did or did not travel out of the country around the time of Barack Obama’s birth.

The claim made in the Freedom of Information response letter that many passport records were destroyed during the 1980s comes despite a statement on the State Department website that Passport Services maintains U.S. passport records for passports issued from 1925 to the present.

The records released, however, contain interesting tidbits of new information about Obama’s mother, including the odd listing of two different dates and locations for her marriage to Obama’s Indonesian stepfather, Lolo Soetoro.

(Story continues below)

In the released documents Dunham listed both March 15, 1965, in Molokai, Hawaii, and March 5, 1964, in Maui, Hawaii, as the dates and places of her marriage.

Dunham later divorced Lolo Soetoro in Hawaii. The divorce decree took effect Nov. 5, 1980, but the divorce papers do not list the date of the marriage.

No marriage certificate between Dunham and Soetoro has yet publicly surfaced, but a released application to amend Dunham’s 1965 passport to her married name Stanley Ann Soetoro includes a checked box indicating a passport officer had seen the marriage certificate.

The released records also document that on Aug. 13, 1968, Dunham applied to have her 1965-issued passport renewed for two years, until July 18, 1970.

Under 22 USC Sec. 217a, from 1959 through 1968, passports were initially issued for three years, but they could be renewed for an additional two years.

Obama, by any other name

Also revealed by the released records is a heretofore unknown, alternative name for Barack Obama.

In the 1968 application to renew her 1965 passport, Dunham listed as her son Barack Hussein Obama, including in parenthesis below the name, “Soebarkah,” in what appears to be a variation of an Indonesian surname not previously associated in the public record with the president.

For some unexplained reason, the designation of “Barack Hussein Obama (Soebarkah)” is crossed off the 1968 application by five handwritten, diagonal hash marks.

S. Ann Dunham in Indonesia

Dunham also appears to have used two different variations of her name in obtaining and amending passports while married to Lolo Soetoro: Stanley Ann Dunham Soetoro and, without her maiden name, Stanley Ann Soetoro.

On April 27, 1981, Dunham applied from Jakarta, Indonesia, for a U.S. passport, indicating that she was in Indonesia working on a two-year contract from the Ford Foundation, from January 1981 through December 1982.

At that time, Dunham was working on a microfinance program for the Ford Foundation, which was overseen by Peter Geithner, the father of Timothy Geithner, the current U.S. secretary of the treasury.

Ann Dunham’s occupation in the 1981 passport application was listed as “Program Officer, Ford Foundation.”

No passport records subsequent to 1986 for Ann Dunham were released, though presumably a passport was issued following her 1986 application, such that the 10-year period prior to expiration would have extended one year past her death.

Dunham died Nov. 7, 1995, and was known to have been in Indonesia in 1994 when an Indonesian doctor first misdiagnosed as indigestion the first signs of the ovarian cancer that was the cause of her death the following year.

The released documents shed no light on proving or disproving whether Dunham might have held a passport prior to Barack Obama’s birth that she could have used to travel to Kenya for his birth, as has been speculated in the absence of the release of Obama’s long-form birth certificate from Hawaii.

The State Department released the Dunham passport documents July 29, responding to a Freedom of Information request submitted by Christopher Strunk, a New York resident who has actively pursued obtaining documents regarding Obama’s birth and his eligibility to be president under the “natural born citizen” requirement of Section 1, Article 2 of the United States Constitution.

The Dunham documents have been archived on the Internet.

The controversy continues

A prominent array of commentators, including Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, Mark Levin, Lou Dobbs, Peter Boyles and WND’s Chuck Norris and Pat Boone have all said unequivocally and publicly that the Obama eligibility issue continues to be legitimate and worthy.

Longtime New York radio talker Lynn Samuels did the same.

“We don’t even know where he was born,” she said. “I absolutely believe he was not born in this country.”

WND has reported on multiple legal challenges to Obama’s status as a “natural born citizen.” The Constitution, Article 2, Section 1, states, “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

Some of the lawsuits question whether Obama was actually born in Hawaii, as he insists. If he was born out of the country, Obama’s American mother, the suits contend, was too young at the time of his birth to confer American citizenship to her son under the law at the time.

Other challenges have focused on Obama’s citizenship through his father, a Kenyan subject to the jurisdiction of the United Kingdom at the time of his birth, thus making him a dual citizen. The cases contend the framers of the Constitution excluded dual citizens from qualifying as natural born.

Further, others question his citizenship by virtue of his attendance in Indonesian schools during his childhood and question on what passport did he travel to Pakistan three decades ago.

Adding fuel to the fire is Obama’s persistent refusal to release documents that could provide answers and his appointment of lawyers to defend against all requests for his documentation.

While his supporters cite an online version of a “Certification of Live Birth” from Hawaii as his birth verification, critics point out such documents actually were issued for children not born in the state.

I didn't apply for mine; my parents did (or I assume they did, they are the ones that gave me the card). It is quite possible it was applied for in California (we traveled a lot). Again, this still makes it a curiosity. It is curious that Obama has a CT number. It is curious that the kid with the number immediately preceding it is dead (which is not the same as having the same number as a dead person).

I'd rather see the effort exerted on college records.

NO! At the time it was rare for kids to get a SS#. My parents asked for ours at birth. Now it is automatically apart of the packet that the hospital gives you when your child is born. Part of the paperwork they give you is for a birth certificate, and part of it is for a SS#. Up until it was required to have a SS# to receive a tax deduction for children on your 1040 it was normal not to get a SS# until you got a job.

Now you need one right away to get a tax break or credit on the 1040. Regardless, did you need a passport as a youth to travel in the sixties and seventies. Obama went to Kenya, lived in Indonesia. And if you needed a passport to travel as a youth, did you also need a SS# to get a passport? I am asking because I do not know.

I saw the blatantly phony explanation given by Bill O'Reilly last night in answer to a viewer's question as to how Barack Obama was using a Social Security number issued to a Connecticut resident (as can be determined by the first three digits of the SSN).

O'Reilly's attempted cover-up of this inconvenient fact was to state that Obama's father was living in Connecticut at the time and might have used his address on his son's paperwork. But we know with virtual certainty that Obama Sr. was in Kenya at the time (1977) when that SSN was issued. Even going back much earlier to Obama Sr.'s time living in the US, he had residences in Hawaii, then Massachusetts (where he attended Harvard), but never Connecticut.

If the FOX management had any integrity, they'd boot O'Reilly out of their studios for such an egregious lie. It's the biggest whopper told an the air in connection with a sitting president since Dan Rather's notorious "Bush was AWOL from the National Guard" story in 2004.

I don’t suppose he was born in Africa. However, I now have serious doubts he was born in this country. He does not have the long form BC. I suspect that since the only place a brand newborn Barry was ever seen was in Seattle, that her parents sent Stanley Ann to an unwed mothers home in Canada, just a few miles from Seattle. That would explain how her friends saw her with a newborn, and taught her how to change a diaper. One of them remembers babysitting for baby Barack.

Remember that Stanley Ann was too young to confer American citizenship on her baby. Who knows if he ever was naturalized? His first passport may have been the Indonesian one.

Darn, and I meant to add that I don’t think I got a form for my son who was born in 1977, when he was born. I may misremember tho.

Exactly. How does BOR get away with these blatant lies? Something is very wrong with fox news.

At some point the tax laws changed. The IRS started requiring a SS# for every child you deduct on your tax form. That is why kids get a SS# right away, so you can get your tax deduction/credit. I do not know when that started.

Not true, My parents got our SS#’s right away. My brother was born in ‘65 and i was born in ‘67.

Yes, it could be done. My folks got for one for me in 1966 right after I was born. They didn’t do it for my younger sister and brother, though, who were born during the next few years. I don’t know why.

Our daughter was born in 1978 and we were not required to register her for Social Security at the time of her birth.

Consider he may have been getting student aid and loans under more than one name. In effect, double dipping.

Guess what? I was born in Indiana and have a SS number associated with California. I had no idea I was a fraud. Obama’s Connecticut number is a curiosity, but hardly scandalous.

******

I don't understand your statement above. Are saying that you never lived in California but you still got a Social Security number associated with California?

How old were you when you got your Social Security number? What state were you living in at the time?

Could you please show us the first three numbers of your Social Security number? Thanks.
