Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), arguably the most prominent fiscal conservative in the Senate, is declaring his independence from one of the country's leading anti-tax groups, Americans for Tax Reform - and its fiery founder, Grover Norquist.

"Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Okla.), arguably the most prominent fiscal conservative in the Senate....."

Does the "fiscal conservative mean that the good doctor is not pro-life?

I'm very concerned whenever I learn that any GOP is part of a "bi-partisan" anything - that always means "sell out" to genuine conservatives.

Scum is correct. grover norquist,.... agenda setter, lobbyist, fund raiser and overall heavy hitter for the muslim terrorist front group here in America. c.a.i.r. (He was also a long time nra board member, if you can believe that! And the nra knew all along of his anti-American work and kept him installed!!!). norquist is the most vile of America haters.

He’s still on the board of the NRA, as well as the GOProud. He pushes for the creation of a Palestinian State, and was for the 911 trade center mosque.

If Jack Abramoff was guilty, then so was Grover Norquist. They partnered together.

He’s a financial guy, who sticks his nose everywhere it doesn’t belong.

Overall, he has some good and bad qualities, but I wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

Are you sure he is still on the nra’s board ph? Last I heard he did not seek office the last election cycle. Gotta disagree with ya tho.....norquist has no good qualities. He activley works for the destruction of America from within by his c.a.i.r. duties. He is 100% pro muslim, married to one and hopes to see their islamic ‘death cult’s continued inroads here in our Country. He is scum period. The nra can go take a leap also.

That’s why Repubs won’t dare hold impeachment hearings,

You want to know the REAL reason that the Repubs don't hold impeachment hearings? Because they are not that STUPID. Removal through impeachment requires a 2/3 majority; and they couldn't even get 50 votes to remove boy clinton when it was an open and shut case on the charges of perjury and obstruction of justice. To even suggest holding hearings for Zero -- when there is no chance of even getting impeachment voted out of the House, let alone getting even a majority in the Senate -- would be a colossal waste of time, and would send a message to the voters that the GOP doesn't have any kind of plan or agenda to legislatively reverse the course of this disastrous administration.

Coburn also endorsed McCain in 2008.

McCain was, unfortunately, the GOP Candidate in 2008. While I would have much preferred Fred Thompson as our candidate, his campaign never got off the ground. So other than Fred, who (among those who had any reasonable shot at the nomination) was your choice and received your endorsement? Romney? Guiliani? Huckabee? (Those are pretty much your only choices.)

Coburn selected McCain out of all the nominees you mentioned, including Fred Thompson, my choice. I confronted Coburn in SC during the primaries. I asked him outside a McCain rally why he would support someone who supported amnesty. He told me that he had a promise from McCain that he would not try to pass an amnesty if elected. I expressed my disappointment in his endorsement.

I spent three weeks in SC following the McCain campaign demonstrating against him on the issue of amnesty along with a number of my fellow grassroots group from VA. We also spent three weeks in FL demonstrating against McCain.

I lost a lot of respect for Coburn after he endorsed McCain. Coburn likes to get on his moral high horse to show how principled and patriotic he is. The reality is that he has feet of clay and is just as corrupt as the rest of them. His participation on the President's budget commission and vote in favor of its results plus being a member of the Gang of Six concern me. We are going to get tax hikes in the form of abolishing "loopholes." Congress will continue its profligate spending as long as we have enablers like Coburn.

Of course, SR 511 granted eligibility to no one. The question is WHY did the Repubs vote for it at all? It made them co-conspirators with the Dems in violating the Constitution and Dems used it to make Obama eligible.

That vote on April 30 happened after the Mar. 12, 2008 secret session of Congress supposedly to discuss homeland security. See GoldandSilverExchange.info “Closed Door Session of Congress on Mar. 12, 2008: What did they discuss?” Some came from the meeting crying, others angry.

Were they threatened if they did not vote FOR SR 511? Is that when Howard Dean was told to force Hillary’s delegates to switch to Obama?

Hearings would not necessarily lead to impeachment, but there would be publicity and at least many Americans would realize that we have an illegal president and corrupt party who must be voted out of office.

Do you have an alternative solution besides waiting another year and a half for rigged elections?

Yes. Legislate. Write, debate, and vote on legislation to reduce the scope and size of government, reduce spending, eliminate departments, de-fund organizatations that shouldn't be getting tax funds, etc. Force the democrats in the Senate to block the legislation or Obama to veto it. Then rather than getting lots of publicity for wasting everybody's time and money on a circus that will never go anywhere and will make the GOP look like a bunch of worthless crybabies, we would contrast the GOP as trying to drive a solution while the dems are blocking every attempt to reduce the deficit, create jobs, and put money back in the pockets of the taxpayers.

Already the Republicans are getting blamed for the latest legislative conflicts. Democrats (according to polls) are more trusted than Republicans. Republicans’ approval numbers are WORSE than Obama’s.

And here we see the circular firing squad of Nutballs going after the most conservative senator in the Senate. NO ONE can please this group (which only supports candidates capable of getting less than 2% of the vote) who will NEVER support anyone capable of winning.
