(Interesting list, considering the source. Several of the top ten quite weak, several of the top ten quite true.)
Oliver Willis is out to counter the conservative claim that Rush Limbaugh's racism is a figment of the liberal media's imagination. His technique: pulling together a compilation of 46 of the most racist proclamations that have spewed from the talk-radio host's mouth over the past six years, as reported by Media Matters...
Whether you'd file these comments under racism, race-baiting, true-colors revealing or plain old hating, the list is thorough. And at the rate Limbaugh (who is among the most-listened-to political figures in America and was invited to be the keynote speaker at CPAC, the leading conservative gathering) is going, 46 might just turn into 50 by the time you read this (Willis has already supplemented the original 45).
Check out the first 10 here:
1. Limbaugh on Obama: "Halfrican American" (1/24/07)
2. Limbaugh on Obama: His "only chance of winning is that he's black" (6/2/08)
3. Limbaugh on Jesse Jackson: Kerry camp got "a chocolate chip" (1/30/04)
4. Limbaugh: "If Obama weren't black, he'd be a tour guide in Honolulu" (7/6/10)
5. Limbaugh twice used word "spade" during discussion of Obama (1/15/08)
6. Limbaugh: Obama "wouldn't have been voted president if he weren't black" (7/6/10)
7. Limbaugh: "The media has been very desirous that a black quarterback do well" (2003)
8. Limbaugh: "NFL all too often looks like a game between the Bloods and the Crips without any weapons" (1/19/07)
9. Limbaugh: Left upset with Obama because "white people are not shining the shoes of black people" (4/22/11)
10. Limbaugh: Gallup is "upping the sample of black Americans" to keep Obama's approval rating over 50 percent (11/19/09)

Henry Louis Gates? This is the guy who is the race baiter.
I read those comments and all I see are a guy making statements about other people’s views on race. I guess when a conservative does that, it is “racist” or “race baiting.” When a liberal does it, I guess it’s enlightened.
Of that top 10, only 5 and 8 are racist in my book. The others are simply the truth.
By the way, it’s not illegal for an individual to be racist. The thought police haven’t been given that much power... yet.
I see Oliver grasping at straws to try to make a point that the Central Committee told him to make. Straws.
Ol' Skip must listen to Rush an awful lot to compile a list like that.
He better be careful though. If he listens too much, he'll become a Dittohead.
Funny now, but sooner or later people will become very tired and angry over this crap.
It is amazing what gets lumped in as being “racist” these days.
If I wanted to know whether or not Rush was a racist, I would ask:
1) Snerdly
2) Walter Williams
3) Thomas Sowell
4) Clarence Thomas
5) The Hutch
6) Ward Connerly
Laughable! Is this all they got? Ha!!!!
As for #5, I might agree, but only if in a certain context. If he said something like “There’s a spade in the White House” - yes. If he said “lets call a spade a spade” - not so much. There was no context given and it would be wise to remember the left are liars and smear merchants first and foremost.
I must be a racist also (with black relatives who agree with Rush) because I think Rush hits the nail on the head with his kind of delivery for this socialist, destroyer who HAPPENS to be mulatto...not black. He’s actually being nice considering what he could say.
0 is only popular because the socialist media make him that way.
We all know how it works.
I’ll pull a ‘in-your-face-demwad/socialist 0 statement
here...SO WHAT!
Is it now racist to state fact? Fact is, if not for Obama’s race he wouldn’t have been elected to the White House. Period!
And 5 doesn't even give the quote. So we can't judge for ourselves.
Mat Drudge is the racist, because all Rush does these days is read from the Drudge Report and talk like he researched it.
If you are up an catch the Drudge report the when it first updates in the morning, remember it, because Rush will start out his show with the top headline from Drudge and then go down the list of articles throughout his show.
"I'll have those n*ggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years."
-- Democrat President Lyndon B. Johnson
"The only concession I might make to him(King Saud) is to give him the 60 million jews we have in the United States"
-- Democrat President Franklin Roosevelt
"I did not lie awake at night worrying about the problems of Negroes."
-- Democrat Attorney General Robert F. Kennedy, 1961
"These Negroes, they're getting pretty uppity these days and that's a problem for us since they've got something now they never had before, the political pull to back up their uppityness. Now we've got to do something about this, we've got to give them a little something, just enough to quiet them down, not enough to make a difference. For if we don't move at all, then their allies will line up against us and there'll be no way of stopping them, we'll lose the filibuster and there'll be no way of putting a brake on all sorts of wild legislation. It'll be Reconstruction all over again."
-- Democrat Senator Lyndon B. Johnson (D., Texas), 1957
".....African-Americans watch the same news at night that ordinary Americans do. "
-- Democrat President Clinton
Segregation Forever!!
Democrat Governor George Wallace campaign slogan

Truth is a bitter pill to swallow... Q, What’s the difference between a black marxist and a white marxist? A, The white marxist can’t get away with things the way a black marxist can.
Rush gets more than that every week from the black racists in the US.
Amazing.
Media Matters? c’mon....
Gates is a professional whiner, seeing racism everywhere. Not too uncommon for racists. It’s all they can focus on.
Gates—he just keeps acting stupidly.
Here's a classic example. Rush is decrying racist voting preferences, and that itself gets called racist.
On the January 7 edition of The Rush Limbaugh Show, host Rush Limbaugh said that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s (D-NY) suggestion that Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) “has not done the kind of spadework” that Clinton has done was “not coincidental,” given, he said, that “this is the bunch that suppresses black people in the Democrat [sic] Party.” Limbaugh returned to the topic on the January 14 edition of his nationally syndicated radio show. But this time, while discussing Obama, Limbaugh twice used the word “spade,” which can be used as a racial slur. Specifically, Limbaugh said that “Obama is holding his own against both of them [Bill and Hillary Clinton], doing more than his share of the ‘spadework,’ maybe even gaining ground at the moment, using not only the spade, ladies and gentlemen. But when he finishes with the spade in the garden of corruption planted by the Clintons, he turns to the hoe. And so the spadework and his expertise, using a hoe. He’s faring well.” “Spadework” is used commonly among political figures and the media to describe efforts by individuals of all races to lay groundwork for various initiatives or campaigns.
Rush NEVER called Obama a “spade”. He would have been gone the next day if he did.
“I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” he said. “I mean, that’s a storybook, man.”
—Democrat Senator (now VP) Joe Biden
"Mahatma Gandhi "ran a gas station down in Saint Louis."
--Democrat Senator Hillary Clinton
"You'd find these potentates from down in Africa, you know, rather than eating each other, they'd just come up and get a good square meal in Geneva."
-- Democrat Senator Fritz Hollings
Blacks and Hispanics are "too busy eating watermelons and tacos" to learn how to read and write."
-- Democrat Mike Wallace, CBS News
"He's married to a white woman. He wants to be white. He wants a colorless society. He has no ethnic pride. He doesn't want to be black."
-- Democrat California State Senator Diane Watson's on Ward Connerly's interracial marriage
"You f*cking Jew b@stard."
-- Democrat Senator Hillary Clinton
"I want to go up to the closest white person and say: 'You can't understand this, it's a black thing' and then slap him, just for my mental health."
-- Democrat New York City councilman Charles Barron
"Civil rights laws were not passed to protect the rights of white men and do not apply to them."
-- Democrat Mary Frances Berry, Chairwoman, US Commission on Civil Rights
Typical white person.
-- Democrat President Barack Obama. Regarding his grandmother.
"I don't care what people are saying Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day. This city will be a majority African-American city. It's the way God wants it to be."
-- Democrat Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin
"I don't talk to you white motherf******. You bitch motherf****** in the white press. F*** you, you motherf***ing assh*** white devils."
-- Democrat Congressman Gus Savage
"A few years age he (Obama) would be getting coffee for us"
-- Democrat President Bill Clinton
The country is ready to embrace a black presidential candidate, especially one such as Obama..a light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect, unless he wanted to have one
Democrat Senator Harry Reid (he later apologized)
I dont know how anyone of Hispanic heritage could be a Republican, okay. Do I need to say more?
Democrat Senator Harry Reid
"The laws in this city are clearly racist. All laws are racist. The law of gravity is racist."
-- Democrat Marion Barry, Mayor of Washington, DC
The only one of those 10 that could possibly be racist is the one about “spades”. Except I note they don’t include a quote for that one, so I will assume the actual QUOTE isn’t racist, and therefore they have to imply racism by simply mentioning a word he used.
What if he said “calling a spade a spade”, for example? That is a colloquial term that isn’t racist, and those who claim you can’t use that term while talking about a black person are the racists.
Certainly, saying a guy got a job because of his race isn’t racist. It’s saying a guy isn’t qualified for a job BECAUSE of his race that is racist. But Rush has never said that Obama isn’t qualified because he is black. He has said that Obama isn’t qualified because Obama is unqualified. But Obama gets a pass because he is black. That isn’t racism, that’s the definition of affirmative action.
Maybe one of the other 46 are actually racist statements.

Wow: I was not aware before that there were pictures available of the late Senator Byrd after he had died, and was stuffed and mounted.
Somebody whining about race from ‘The Root’.
The Root advertises itself as:
The Root is a daily online magazine that provides thought-provoking commentary on today’s news from a variety of black perspectives.
Over how much time was this list compiled? I wonder if we could lsiten to someone like Sharpton or Jackson for a few hours and get even moe racisit statments from them?
I doubt he did/would too, therefore its safe to assume #5 is a BS charge like the rest.
Everyone’s a racist to some degree or another. Anybody who say’s they’re not is a RACISST!
I DO remember Hillary saying “spadework” during the primaries regarding Obama. I think the poster above is correct, in that Rush was tweaking the MSM by directly quoting Hillary’s remark (which I thought was odd for Hillary to say, BTW). This article’s author is an idiot.
BS
He goes over many aspects of the day and outlets.
