Before dawn approximately 475 Taliban fighters escaped from a large prison in Kandahar. The Prisoners opened their cell doors and left the prison through a well prepared tunnel. Like the classic movie The Great Escape They managed to escape without being detected. This is not be a Hollywood script but may have been influenced by one.
In a well thought-out plan to break out prisoners took 5 months to build a tunnel from a local house to the section of the prisons where the fighters were being held. The 1000 foot tunnel were designed and dug by engineers, it had electricity and a ventilation system. (1) Once the prisoners arrived at the end of the tunnel they were met with waiting cars and buses. The drivers knew how to leave Kandahar without detection. The well timed coordination of this operation was flawless and whoever was the mastermind should be considered extremely dangerous.
The prisoners had keys to their cells on the night of the escape, most likely provided by guards loyal to the Taliban.

We are obviously not there to win. Near as I can tell, we're there so we can find ways to accuse American troops of imaginary atrocities while we tie their hands behind their backs with irrational rules of engagement.
Bring them home now. Indict the Commander-in-Chief for treason.

Unlike the Great Escape, these guys had inside help. Same thing happened in June 2008. Everything here is deja vu.
Yeah. I don’t remember cars and buses waiting for the escaped prisoners in Germany.
At one point the war in Afghanistan made some sense, in the early days under Bush.
It no longer makes any sense. We are now busy training the very guys who are working with the Taliban and shooting our troops.
Our troops are barely allowed to defend themselves, and are forbidden to call in air support if they get in a fire fight.
No wonder more Americans are being killed than ever before, apparently in what has morphed into what amounts to aiding and abetting the enemy, under the guidance of Emperor Zero the Secret Caliph.
